    Building Warrant Plans - Velux

I'm really not sure my roof has any of that, apart from maybe the longitudal bracing. I'll need to take another look. Its a shallow pitch, stuffed with insulation, so a pure pain to get into to :D Appreciate your help Woody (y)

    Building Warrant Plans - Velux

In my defense, I did mention in the OP it was a fink. In my ignorance, I wouldn't know what difference it would make :D

    Building Warrant Plans - Velux

I thought top of a truss was a rafter (?) I need to remove the short diagonal on one truss, to make the space on the roof. I don't have anything built in specifically for that being removed, if that's what you mean. Are you thinking like putting in a vertical support (below)? Really don't...

    Building Warrant Plans - Velux

This would be the dream but unfortunately I don't believe we do. Guidance on needing warrant says "If you're not sure whether you need to apply for a Building Warrant you can ask your local council's Building Standards service.". They replied to me with "Unfortunately, due to the many...

    Building Warrant Plans - Velux

I’ve spent most the of the night trying to learn what i need in Sketchup. I’ve got a set of trusses at 600c, so marginal gains :D Just going to need to take my best punt on the warrant and hope for the best. If anyone has BW samples they could share it would be most appreciated.

    Building Warrant Plans - Velux

I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to obtain the services of a SE for the above work - I, perhaps mistakenly, thought they could do the drawings with the necessary reinforcements required. The last two have mentioned they'd need an architects drawings, even if they had the time to help me. Can...

    Building Warrant Plans - Velux

Hi all, im planning on installing a Velux but need to submit plans for a Building Warrant (Scotland). I'd need to cut one rafter to create the space needed in the roof plus one bottom rafter (to flow into downstairs bathroom). Has anyone submitted plans for this work before they could share...

    Appliance Socket Options

Ok, been sleeping on this. Went to bed feeling it was cracked then woke up thinking 'no, thats not right' :D So, where I need the appliances is between two sockets (~3m apart) in the ring. If im thinking about this right, I need to take two spurs to DP switches between these sockets. Is putting...

    Appliance Socket Options

Yeah mate - ring looks to be on 30 amp fuse (with the red dots in the pic). The more I think about it the more im convicing myself a re-wire is the 'easiest' thing... There could be a 3m cable span between two sockets in the ring - is that 'kosher'? Im guessing its there just now - if im...

    Appliance Socket Options

Feels like a DW and WM would burst that 15amp if they happen to be running a 'hot' cycle at the same time, which puts me back to the start.... A re-wire wasnt on my list for this but looking around the kitchen it could be doable meaning I could extend the ring to include the two new sockets...

    Appliance Socket Options

Hopefully this helps :) This is the current layout - excuse the mess - existing socket behind washers at bottom right. This is the socket - supply cable runs under the floor back to the CU. Previous owners put this in. I've marked the cable with a couple of purple dots. Runs into a...

    Appliance Socket Options

Yeah, its a single cable from the CU to the double socket I have at the moment. Ok, so would be fine to spur from existing supply (above) creating two single sockets controlled by double pole switches? Apologies if i've picked you up wrong :)

    Appliance Socket Options

2.5mm with 13amp fuse (at work - sure its 13 and not 16 :) - double check when I get home) Yeah, just noticed it takes hot water - dont have a T-off the hot at the moment but might just do that - cheers!

    Appliance Socket Options

Hi, I currently have a double switched socket (radial) serving a dishwasher and washing machine. We're getting a new kitchen fitted with a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Looking for any thoughts on what my options are for the new set-up? Current train of thought is that i'll need two FCUs above...
