Need a very quiet Toilet fill valve?

Thank you - that's what I should have bought in the first place, but some forums somewhere else said how good the Torbeck was - I should have researched longer and found this :?

Need a very quiet Toilet fill valve?

CORRECTION . . . it's -> [email protected] I have just received the modified part today. All it does is my case is to make the fill slower, and then ends with an equally irritating "squeak" instead of the "water-hammer". I'm running at 3.5 Bar, and have tried both combinations of...

Potterton Suprima 50 firing up, then stopping, then again.

I carried out all the necessary safety checks that I had observed all previous "professional" service personnel doing. All seals are in perfect condition :) If they were not, then the fan would not be able to create the necessary reduction in pressure in the "Combustion Chamber" to trigger...

He He . . . I don't need enlightening, as I'm already enlightened, and have saved myself (and my neighbours) thousands of pounds by being so.

The manual supplied by Potterton refers to the part which I removed as the "Front Case". The Combustion Chamber is where the combustion takes place, behind another plate, which I did not need to remove. This is also what the most recent *approved* agent said when he was doing a general...

Not £350, which is what Potterton were going to charge me. Anyway, why bother to call someone out, if you can do it yourself ? I can now fix my Washing Machine and Dishwater for common faults, by carefully observing what the Service Agents have done, as they've huffed-and-puffed their way...

You have to remove the front panel (two screws) but you do not have to access the Combustion chamber to replace the poor quality 'red lead', or to change the igniter, as that can be done from below the Combustion Chamber.

All I have done for my neighbours is to show / help them how to replace the PCB's when they have failed, instead of them being ripped off by Potterton. They will also be informed about the 'red lead' fault, which does not require access to the Combustion Chamber. I didn't open up the...

Potterton Suprima 50 firing up, then stopping, then again.

Like most people I don't like being ripped-off by Trades-people who assume that their clients are naive or thick, which is what's happened to me many times in the past with Kitchen Appliances and Car-Servicing / Repairs. Mostly I know what's wrong before the 'specialists' arrive, so I can...

Potterton Suprima 50 firing up, then stopping, then again.

Says who ? There is absolutely nothing in the installation and service manual to say I can't open the Combustion Chamber. Like a rip-off £350 to Potterton for something I am able now to fix myself, as I have in the past :) And how the heck do you find a Plumber who knows about the Suprima...

Yes, a "new" igniter lead was supplied with the latest kit I fitted . . however, it was made of a woven Carbon-fibre sort of material, and others have found it becomes faulty quite rapidly (as I have), just like many Potterton components, so the very latest kits will have an Igniter lead made of...

Potterton Suprima 50 firing up, then stopping, then again.

The "qualified" people, meaning Potterton's "HeatTeam" want to charge me £325 plus VAT to sort it. I've managed to service it regularly and replace the two previous PCBs with the latest version for the last 13 years, so I know more about the Suprima 50 than most plumbers who have come to...

Sorry I meant to clarify by saying the PCB in the sealed-box is that unit you are referring to, so it's the latest version.

I've just been doing some searching on this forum (and others) and have read comments about the red HT lead to the igniter not being very reliable.
