thanks for all the GOOD advice chaps , did my own thing and replaced the fan with a recon part and now have a fully working boiler , had it serviced today
total cost inc parts £84 (£44 for the fan £40 for the service )

thats what I intend to do but as boilers are not my thing I would like to know a clue to what it could be, as there are some people who like to rip people off

ps it helps the fan is running slow on start up
I have a glow worm fuel saver 80f boiler , the fan runs but will not light if you bang the fron cover it will light first time (found this out by replacing the lower cover wilst it was trying to light ) any ideas ?? help please
