Boiler pipe leaking - advice please

Gigz, thanks for your reply, you seem like an okay type of guy. Don't know what's up with the rest of these guys. Some kinda sense of humour bypass I guess. These type of ill-mannered responses don't a sensitive chap like me wanna hang out. Gigz, I shall take your kind advice. The rest of you...

Boiler pipe leaking - advice please

Thought I'd post an update to this, to let you all know I'm alive and well and finally doing something about the problem! First off, I bought a CO2 alarm soon after that last post - I read up on the symptoms of CO2 poisoning and thought I might have one or two of them: listlessness, fatigue...

Boiler pipe leaking - advice please

Oh, I should have added - though it might not make a jot of difference to the replies - that this only happens when the weather turns really cold outside. We can have the heating on in the summer without getting this problem. Is it just how the steam condenses on meeting the cold air outside?

Thanks for that comprehensive response SandyLion. So it looks like I'm going to have to get someone out after all. Darn! Thought it was just a leaky pipe! Thanks for all the replies guys, it's good to come to an active forum where people read and respond. If I think on, I'll post the outcome...

Boiler pipe leaking - advice please

Thanks for that advice. I guess I should invest in a detector - never considered it really as the boiler is in the bathroom, it's a large room, well ventilated. But yeah, maybe I should pick one up. Thanks.

Boiler pipe leaking - advice please

No I don't have a CO detector - thought it was just steam going out that way. Is it that serious?

Boiler pipe leaking - advice please

Hi all, here's another little job that I've neglected for ages (as you can see from the rust - oops! It looks worse than it is. I hope!) As you can see, the... err, don't know the technical term... collar? is slowly leaking from both ends. What's the best/quickest/easiest way to stop the...

Does anyone recognise this mixer tap?

Thanks Rob. You're right, this particular model is just screwed down, no grub screw. Doesn't look like anything should hold it in place, but it just didn't seem to want to budge beyond the point in the photo. I'll give it another go tomorrow - too close to wife-getting-home-time to start on this...

Does anyone recognise this mixer tap?

Thanks for the quick reply Pete! Glad I don't have to remove the complete unit - it was a b*gg*r to fit in the first place! I've been giving the spout quite a pull, but it doesn't seem to wanna budge beyond the point shown in the photo - any "spout won't budge" tips!?

Does anyone recognise this mixer tap?

Hello everyone, I'm new here! I'm trying to fix a minor leak on the base of a mixer tap that I bought from John Lewis several years ago. I've posted some pictures showing detail. I'm trying to remove the tap from the base but can only pull it out so far, and don't want to pull too hard in case I...
