    Replacing electric shower

@Ban-all-sheds erm so can I just buy another 8.5kw or not? The old one worked fine for 8+ years so I'm guessing a new one with the same rating should be ok.

    Replacing electric shower

The fuse is a Hager L158 BS1361, doesn't look tampered with to me. It is similar to this and the slot it goes into on the CU says 30A too. What I basically want to know is can I just buy http://secure.tritonshowers.co.uk/electric-showers/aspirante-electric-shower-brushed-steel.html or do I need...

    Replacing electric shower

Interesting, I never thought of that. I'll take a look when I get home, thanks. The fuse itself has a machine printed 30A on it but I guess someone could possibly have got inside and changed the wire. I'm guessing if the fuse is rated too low for a 8.5kw shower it would have been blowing a fuse...

    Replacing electric shower

I am replacing the existing 8.5kw electric shower in our ensuite bathroom. On checking the fuse in our CU (old style cartridge fuses without an RCD) I find that the fuse for the shower circuit is only 30A. My high school physics tells me that should only support 7.2kw (30Ax240V=7200W) of power...

    Where to buy aquaboard

I didn't realise it would compress that much. I was thinking I would have to give it a good squeeze at 75mm. Would 100mm give better sound deafening than 50mm in a 60mm gap then or doesn't it make much difference?

    Where to buy aquaboard

Thanks guys. I got the aquapanel from Wickes in the end. Another question in the meantime if I may please. We've had to throw out the insulation that was in the en suite stud walls as it was damp and mouldy too. What should I use to replace it? The studs are 60mm deep. Does it have to be...

    Takeaway Suites any good?

Thanks for the advice guys. Good tip to check box before leaving. How do Wickes compare with B&Q? We have one in Chester and I'm planning to pop in tomorrow.

    Where to buy aquaboard

Yeah I looked at that but it seems to be just moisture resistant rather than fully waterproof.

    Takeaway Suites any good?

We are currently replacing the basin and toilet in our En Suite bathroom. We have picked up the B & Q brochure which has some suites which you have to order and others that you can takeaway that tend to be much cheaper. Are these takeaway suites any good or would we be better of paying a bit...

    Where to buy aquaboard

Hi Guys and Gals This is my first post here so please be gentle with me! I am replacing the plasterboard in our En Suite bathroom which has got damp and mouldy due to water getting in between the tiles. My father-in-law has suggested Aquaboard as it is waterproof and can be tiled straight onto...
