    Hi there I got an outside 60 watts lamp on the wall and I want to move it another 4 metres away along the wall.. Can I use 4 metres of 0.75mm flex? It be in plastic conduit..the flex will be in a junction box next to where the light is now..there is a 1.5mm flex going in and 0.75mm coming out...

    ok i try again... the width of the old detatch garage is 4mts and 5mts long..at the rear of the garage wall which is 4mts wide , someone has built a bricked shed up against it on the outside..that shed goes along the whole width as the garage but goes 2mts away from the rear of the garage...

    Ronny.. The span of the 4x2s will be 2mts long as they are sitting on the rear of garage wall where the garage been extended by 2mts and I need to open up the other wall where the 4x2 also sits on to created a 3mts opening..hope it make sense ..many thanks..

    thanks for the replies yes the span will be about 3mts as i will be taking a section of wall out so i need to have a minimum depth for the beam supporting the roof for head clearance .. so now i will get 8mm by 90mm plate.to make up the flitch beam?..

    hi if i contructed a 2no 47mm x 100mm c16 with a 8mm x 100mm plate and bolted with 12mm bolts at 300mm staggered to form a flitch beam say at 3mts.. what size would a timber beam be at the same spec? all the load going to be is taking the weight of 4x2 at 600mm centers and corrugated sheets on...
