hi all
im in the middle of putting new worktops in the kitchen.. i have a free standing oven with gas hobs and it got a glass lid on it..what i need to know is there a regulations about running a wooden worktop upstand along the wall at the back of the cooker opening from either side of the worktop?..on the upstand im using it says stop the upstand 150mm away from the cooker ,,but does this mean even if the cooker as a built on lid? i can understand keeping the upstand away when using hobs without lid..just need to know before i go any further..
hope im in the right forum

many thanks

What I can tell you is that when I queried gas lids on cookers with corgi a few years ago, they stipulated that the glass lid isn't a heat shield and as far as the regs and clearances are concerned, is treat as being no different to a cooker without a glass lid other than the lid safety cut out needs to operate

The MI's will state the clearances required.
What you cannot have is
1) Anything flammable within the clearance zones, wallpaper, wood, curtains etc
2) No sockets that can be plugged into that is above the hob, eg a socket on the wall behind the appliance

thanks for the reply Terox
i will leave out the worktop upstand..and go for the clearance zones..
