    I've managed to get the wall outlet for the shower head off also - the holding screws were badly corroded and wet but its still not easy to see an obvious leak. The mortar all the way around the shower valve is completely dry - so I don;t see how that can be the source of the leak. Even if...

    No the part ive uncovered is dry. The leak seems to be deeper in the wall - the other side of the wall in the next room is damp as is the floor. Do I need toremove the next stage? and if so how? Many thanks

    Thanks for the advice. I've turned off the isolating valves although it appears a dribble is still coming through on the cold inlet. Here is a photo of the shower with the cover removed. Can you advise what I need to do next? Many thanks
