Intergas 28/24 (I think) boiler - Warranty considerations?

Calcium = 65.7250 Magnesium = 20.1538 According to a home brew forum - the ppm can be worked out using these two figures. BUT. Half asleep and mathematical conundrums don't do it for me..lol. I will try to figure it out tomorrow. Thank you all. :D

Intergas 28/24 (I think) boiler - Warranty considerations?

pH (Hydrogen Ion Conc.) = 7.65 Does that look about right? Not sure I got the right thing but looked like it. :D We didn't have any kind of de-scaler on the old boiler..so maybe it's not too bad round here?

Intergas 28/24 (I think) boiler - Warranty considerations?

Oh..sorry everyone that's replied further. Didn't realise there were more replies. Thank you muchly. I checked the water here and it's moderately hard at 90.6mg/l. The Intergas engineer says he will wash my radiator system through twice before installing the boiler so hopefully that should...

Intergas 28/24 (I think) boiler - Warranty considerations?

Just checked for prices on those and they are £100+ this is the problem. We have no money left to buy one. So, we don't have a choice really. Thank you for the information though - much appreciated.

Intergas 28/24 (I think) boiler - Warranty considerations?

Hi All :D Finally I've sorted out finances and am having an Intergas boiler fitted next week. I was recommended to have a Magnaclean installed at the same time as the boiler, but can't afford it unfortunately. Would anyone be good enough to advise me if this or anything else (ie limescale...

New condensing combi boiler needed - any advice please?

Thanks so much Matt, Thanks for the ideas of what it could be. I can at least have an idea what any new engineer should be looking for if I can get someone out. Don't fancy Crimbo without water or heat! Santa's definitely not gonna want to visit if it's colder in here than outside lol. :D...

New condensing combi boiler needed - any advice please?

I know Dan, I'm not a loony fortunately. :D A bit blonde at times, but even in the face of adversity and knowing that my previous guy has probably ended up costing me a lot of money, I'm still sitting here smiling and hoping I can get this sorted out. :) Have been through far too much...

New condensing combi boiler needed - any advice please?

We don't have a room stat. I honestly struggle to believe that someone would refuse to look at it due to somebody else's incompetence? The guy I used isn't just someone I dragged in off the street - he has a business and is registered - how is a member of the public supposed to know if...

New condensing combi boiler needed - any advice please?

Hey Guys - thank you. I'll try to answer as many questions as I can. 1. The fuse blew when he got his mate to turn the electric back on. 2. He cut the cable because he thought there might have been a problem with the supply to the boiler so wanted to bypass the original supply, put a plug...

New condensing combi boiler needed - any advice please?

New thinkings! 8) I've now been told that as we have 15mm piping to the old boiler, we would also have to change the gas supply pipe to 28" to install a condenser boiler. Just don't think we can generate enough cash to do all this. :( So... Been hunting down parts for the old boiler that...

New condensing combi boiler needed - any advice please?

Hi Agile & Mat1e, To be fair the guy I asked to look at it is supposed to be registered and whom I used for servicing the boiler. He cut the mains wire to the boiler in half (which cut power to the whole house) as he thought this was not live - due to the fact that he thought he'd already...

New condensing combi boiler needed - any advice please?

Hi again, Just had someone out to look at the boiler and he thinks that: 1. The PCB board has blown as it smells of burning everytime the power is switched on. 2. The fan may have broken. 3. There could be more faults as the wiring seems to be all wrong. 4. It's going to cost a lot of...

    c95ff Ideal Combi Boiler CAPUT!

:( Bizarre shenanigans with the boiler. Fuses blowing left right and centre. PCB board burning and fan neutral and live showing 240 volts!! Don't wanna burn in our beds so new boiler now on the cards - need some advise about which one to go for. Why did it have to happen now??

    c95ff Ideal Combi Boiler CAPUT!

:( So..ok. I phoned a friend and he's had a look at the boiler. It's not looking good. He replaced a glass fuse which looked like it had blown and when the leccy came back on it blew - in a big way. Now there's no power to the boiler at all. The consumer board was not tripped and the...

    c95ff Ideal Combi Boiler CAPUT!

Haha! lol There's nothing there. Checked everywhere. Unless it's hiding in the loft. The longer I live here the more I'm not surprised. Hunt the socket. I may be gone for some time. And there doesn't appear to be an independent fuse for it on the consumer board either...

    c95ff Ideal Combi Boiler CAPUT!

Thanks Tony - at least I can rule it out now. Should there definitely be a fused spur box somewhere then? Must admit that since moving into this house I've found some very shady bodgeit and scarper goings on...lol. I will keep looking see what I can find. Will the boiler have it's own fuse...

Yay! That's what is next to the boiler. There's a large wire going in at the bottom, going into the unit and coming out at the top - like a spur - but there doesn't appear to be a fuse.
