Before this turns into comedy hour let's try something else. 1. I know what causes damp. 2. I know heat & ventilation help. 3. I'm not after prevention but a solution to remove what has been caused & the best materials (as mentioned in the original post) ie paint etc to put it all right. 4...

Total novice at this so bear with me. Have an area measuring 10m x 3.7m that i want to use for a workshop base (75mm deep). Upstairs getting hot but downstairs not except one that only get's slightly warm at the top, and i think this is only happening due to hot water...

Replaced central heating pump. Now hot rads but no hot water

Eureka! Hot water again. Don't we take this simple thing for granted? Replaced the whole valve and actuator and working a treat. Worked out that the 'floating' black wire does connect in with the orange from the actuator, and all the other wires between the old BT and new Drayton are like...

Replaced central heating pump. Now hot rads but no hot water

Agile Just to correct you on your assumptions. Valve spindle was badly corroded and more than likely broken in the process of freeing it up, which is exactly what i wrote earlier, so i'm sure everyone gathered that. As to the old head - that was already broken when taken apart, again, as...

Replaced central heating pump. Now hot rads but no hot water

Here's a kicker. Think i sorted out the wiring but still no hot water going into tank. Removed the head unit to turn the valve around 180 but the spindle head was nowhere to be seen. Found it stuck in the recess of the head! Snapped clean off. So when i thought it was turn it was in fact doing...

Replaced central heating pump. Now hot rads but no hot water

On the diagram there is a HTS3 Cylinder Stat diagram. From this there is a Common, Calling and Satisfied. Is this the thermostat on the boiler? Calling goes to Orange, Satisfied goes to Grey. Where do you think this 'floating' black from the HW tank should go? Where should this thermostat...
