Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

Thank you very much for this advice. I really appreciate it. Yes, I think I should have done a better job describing the system and where it was installed. The advice from my stove supplier is to use a vented system. I haven't added an oil boiler, but I did think of using an air-source heater...

Yes, very funny and just a little bit racist. I have now got some proper help from someone who knows what they are talking about. Thanks for the contributions.

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

Well, 24 hours of membership to this forum and what an incredible experience it has been! No real help and quite a lot of rude and unhelpful comments. It's easy to hide behind a screen and say what you like - of course it is. I don't like or dislike it, but I do find it all rather unhelpful and...

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

I don't understand. You mean that I would be crazy to pay for the advice received so far , which I clearly didn't? Let's face it, nobody has commented on whether a stove can be higher than a set of radiators or tried to actually suggest a practical way forward apart from some kind of "expert"...

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

Thanks everyone for your comments. Some were a lot more helpful than others. I'm not sure exactly how this site works, as I am completely new to it. If there are "experts" who can help and if it is OK to charge on the back of this site, then feel free to contact me. It surely must be possible to...

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

Thank you (and all others who have posted comments) - I think the best way forward would be for a qualified HETAS person to go through this with me (what is already there and what is needed etc) and come up with a solution that I can get a Greek plumber to install. I would be happy to pay for...

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

It's an overseas property and the main issue is that the 6-year old house is intended to have an oil-fired boiler fitted downstairs between the hot and cold manifolds. I'm trying to understand what needs to be done for me to use a stove instead and hopefully avoid putting in a load of new pipes...

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

OK, thanks for the comment - it looks like you are referring to the (dangerous) way it is now....so does the first one I posted i/e. suggested layout meet that requirement?

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

OK, thanks. The first diagram I posted attempts to do just that. Here is an excerpt from the regulation and my suggested diagram seems to meet it. I have a connection straight through from the boiler flow side to an open vent and the cold feed goes straight to the boiler and the pump is in the...

That's why I am not using it. It would be really fantastic to receive a constructive comment on how it could best be sorted or if it really isn't possible to fix over 2 floors without re-siting boiler etc.

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

Here's the diagram of a back boiler system in a stone house. It is far from ideal and probably dangerous, so I will not be running it like this. The main problem is that the stove has to be on the first floor and it is hard to add pipework as it is part of the building. It would be easy to get...

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

Thanks for your comment. OK, will try to draw it as it is.. The stove has a back boiler at the top with the flow and return straight off and down to connections in the floor. There's no easy way of putting the stove downstairs, due to the layout of the house.

Unusual Heating System - Expert Advice needed

I'm struggling to make a central heating system work. The problem is, I've got a stone house with the plumbing already installed and it's tricky to add new pipes. Essentially I've got 2 floors and 4 radiators downstairs and 3 upstairs. There is sufficient pipework to run 3 single pipe circuits...

    Suggested Layout for System

Based on my research to date, I think this should work, if it is feasible to run radiators below the boiler.
