    Testing Boiler Pressure Vessel

Hi, I get it serviced every year but none of them check the vessel. I watch them do it. I've used different people over the years too cause Ive never found one I've totally been happy with. I've had some that just hoover the boiler and test the emissions. Some that scrape stuff off the...

    Testing Boiler Pressure Vessel

So I drained as much as I could with boiler isolated via drain cock near boiler. I used the PRV to check if there was still water and there was so I drained the rest out via the PRV (I know I shouldn't do this but it was already leaky). Pumped expansion vessel to 11psi (0.75 bar) and this time...

    Testing Boiler Pressure Vessel

Hi guys, 5 years later and this has happened to me again - have lost pressure in the expansion vessel and PRV released water (now leaking slightly which I hopefully settled like last time). Vessel had tiny amount of air come out - no water. So I need to pressurise the vessel again: - boiler...

    Testing Boiler Pressure Vessel

Hi Tony, I did read it, I used the PRV because it's already been blowing off since January when I spotted the pressure drops. Although I can isolate the boiler flow/return I haven't figured out how else to drain it. I think the only thing thats not clear from your FAQ is that some form of...

chandalier light goes dim as you add more bulbs

Just an update, called an Electrician out. There were these little capacitor type things he referred to them as 'chaulk' from fluroscent lights, that were reducing something (power?) to the light fittings causing them to dim. Once he removed these 'chaulks' the chandeliers switched on fully lit.

chandalier light goes dim as you add more bulbs

Should I swap N & E over and try to wire like that in the connector block? Does it matter considering I then tried a class 2 chandalier that only asked for L & N but same problem? Or is it time I called an electrician out? How much cost should I be looking at to resolve this as money is a...

chandalier light goes dim as you add more bulbs

It's definately not the chandalier - because I have 2 of them and both are completely different. The 2nd chandalier I wired up also exhibited the same problem when adding more lamps, this one also didn't require an earth unlike the first one I tried.

Hi there, There was 1 sleeve and inside of that were 3 wires: brown, blue, yellow/green. Then there was a separate single wire dropping from the ceiling which was also a yellow/green. Seems like I had 2 earths? The light fitting also had a brown, blue, yellow/green so I joined...
