Insulating behind fascia board in between joists

Hi all, I've just done my first flat roof and I've left noggins to pick up the Fascia's where the joists run parallel to the wall. The joists overhang at the front also for the fascia. The brickwork is two course higher on the outside so I could have a smaller fascia board by the time the warm...

10 x 2 joist centres for flat roof

Hi all, I'm putting 10 x 2 joists in for a flat roof. The span is about 3m from wall plate into steel and then the same out of the other side of the steel to the fascia. The steel section is 254 tall so I've gone for 10x 2 to give a flat roof and a flush ceiling. Can anyone advise on the...

steel column fixings to concrete pad fondation. help!

Thanks colinc What is the best material for the studs to be made of? I've seen stainless steel, bzp, carbide steel etc etc and different grades. I have some m12 x 160 anchor studs but by the time I've left them sticking out the resin they may only have 100mm bearings in the concrete? The...

    Solid wall lintel type

Hi all, I'm currently removing some patio doors to shorten the opening height to allow for double doors and a wall plate for a flat roof which will run across the sagging soldiers. I'm going to add a lintel as there's no external one at present (1930's semi). I just wanted to know if it's OK to...
