Can they be lubed with any success? I know you are duty bound to tell me to leave it but i'm more than competent to replace it if need be and seal the cover correctly.
Hi, When my boiler fires up it makes a noisy whirring sound, seems to be coming from the top of the boiler so it can only be the fan im thinking? Is there anything I can do to make it less noisy or do I just need to replace it?
My new towel radiator sticks out quite far from the wall and i cant get my plastic pipes to reach. Can you get different valves which bend back towards the wall which then will allow me to push the plastic pipes into the compression fitting?
Just phoned supplier and they said that the toilet does have a low level that's just how theu come now. The cistern not filling properly is because of a limescale filter which I have been advised to remove as up here in scotland we have clean enough water not to need it.
I did think that but it just seems very low. I heard that maybe a blocked drain could cause the level to drop. The cistern only seems to fill half way up also, could this have a bearing on bowl level?
Just fitted my new toilet and I feel that the water level in the bowl is too low. There seems to be a rim in the bowl that the water level should rise to but it is well below this line. Any ideas?
Just about to fit my new toilet in my new bathroom and noticed that there is no overflow coming off the cistern. Does this mean it has an internal overflow that goes into the bowl? Can I just remove overflow pipe from wall and cover over the hole?
Thanks for the advice guys. I need to connect my electric shower to the water supply also.I take it even though its a plastic inlet you don't need to put any kind of insert in it the same as you would with plastic pipe?
I can only seem to get brass olives in my area but I have been told that for plastic pipe you need to use copper olives for compression fittings. If using metal inserts in the pipe I cant see why brass won't do, can anyone clarify?
ok im a bit concerned. just spoke to guy next door who has lived there from it was built and he was told that if he wants two showers one must come off the hot water supply as two electric are a no no. Why the hell do I have two? They have never run at the same time since we have lived there...
Ok guys I am blind. It's an RCD box and the fuse has B40 on it which i'm guessing is 40amp. It's an upstairs ensuite and the cable comes down from the ceiling so again i'm just guessing that it is under the loft insulation. The insulation around the cables is just the standard grey as far as I...
It doesnt say the size on the fuse box. Do i need to remove it to look at the back or something? How do you measure the cable, do you simply measure the diameter? The house is around 12 years old, persimmon built if that makes any difference.
Hi, I'm doing up my ensuite bathroom and in my wisdom chucked out the old electric shower before checking the kw rating on it. How can I tell which kw rated shower I can use? Had a look at the fuse box but cant see a rating on it. Any help really appreciated.
I had to remove a section of drywall in my bathroom as i'm fitting new shower cubicle. The problem I have is that the existing wall sticks out about 3mm at the joint with the new drywall. Can I tape this or do I need to use some sort of spacer to bring it flush before taping?
