All sorted now...initially they didn't connect immersion heater properly then there was an air lock..twice they drained system. Thanks for all your help. By the way they were approved

Hi all I paid him :( because heating was on and working i didn't think there would be any problems. The bang is when both of them are on and have been say for 20 mins or so... My sister has contacted a friend of a friend who is a plumber he thinks the pump may need bleeding through so...

Arghhh! Hot water from the boiler gone off now...so will have to use immersion. Plumber has said he will come back in the week and go to the tanks in the loft to see if the airlock is there, if its not that they said they won't be able to fix it so i'll need a combi boiler fiited.!!

He didn't say what was wrong with the immersion.. Everything is working now through the boiler ..just have this big bang every now and again...what a nightmare though... Oh you coming up this way..I'm in Rugby where it's hard to find a decent plumber/heating engineer :(

Well guys the immersion is now working so I have hot water. I still have the loud bang which they have not said is an air lock they have tried to vacuum it out but it didn't work so they will go to the tanks in the loft in the week however they think it may just gurgle its way out.... They...

The heating was checked to make sure it worked...the water wasn't checked but the lights came on the timer for it along with the immersion switch light so didn't think anything was wrong.... I have been without for two weeks now and its just getting so :evil:

he fitted replacement pump last year and all was ok then.... Not sure how to move forward then is it worth him trying to fix it or should i get someone else?

Oh no!! Immersion doesn't work though that was a brand new one he fitted. Had it on for four hours yesterday and water came out cold so no hot water at all. Turned central heating off due to the bang which seems to be coming from behind the fireplace! I am worried now! :(

Forgive me as I am a lady... Yes all rads heating up ok and straight away.. Plumber has agreed to come out tomorrow to have another look in the meantime I have had to turn central heating off as the bang is shaking the house!!

Is the airlock what is causing the bang? If so what can be done to fix it...does it cost alot? Thank you

There is freezing cold water coming out of the hot taps... He doesn't know says its is nothing to do with the replacement cylinder or immersion but something else most probably... The way that I see it all was working ok before hand...so it should be now... what do you think?

Hi.. My heating and hot water were working ok from my back boiler but the cylinder had a leak. Plumber fitted new cylinder and immersion heater. Radiators work ok but there is no hot water at all from using the boiler or the immersion heater and now there is also a rather large 'whoosh'...
