    Stud partition wall advice please?

Yes Endecotp, you've sussed it correctly; can't believe i hadn't thought to make that clear! The floor does slope along the walls width into what will be one of the rooms. Planing off would work, good idea... It'll just make cutting the vertical studs more difficult though, which is why I was...

That's brilliant, thanks Noseall as well :) OK, I'll get some CT1 ordered then... Just watched the video on YouTube, looks like amazing stuff! (I take it you're thinking that the nail gun option isn't a good plan with regards to compromising the lintel then...?!) I take your point about the...

Thanks Endecotp :-) As I can't even see the lintel as it's hidden behind thick layers of plaster, I've no idea how to consider assessing that! What do you think about the gluing or nailing ideas as an alternative?

    Stud partition wall advice please?

Hi All, I want to put a downstairs wall back in that has previously been taken out, to fill the 2.4m x 2.4m alcove space. I'm under no illusion that virtual exercises are no substitute for actual physical practice, but I'm going to have a bit of time on my hands during the next few months, and want to...

Thanks alastairreid. So, this kind of stuff then... http://www.wickes.co.uk/breathable-membrane-50mx1m/invt/164068/ ? Do you reckon it'll be OK when the heavy chunks of torching land on it, or might it pull the fabric out from around the staples?

How do I deal with crumbly bodging underneath my roof tiles?

Hi, My loft is dry, but the stuff I'm storing in their constantly gets showered with dust and chunks of crumbly lime. My house is ex-council, built in the 1950s, in which they used bodging on the underside of the tiles. ( This has been dropping off bit by bit for several years, and I want to...
