    Megaflo air gap replenishing

Hello everyone, I have a megaflo hot water cylinder which is dripping from the tundish. Have had two weeks ago a gas safe registered engineer to service my boiler and my hot water tank and he said the hot water cylinder would just need the air gap replenished (which he supposedly did)...

Unsecured turret - Boiler at risk

It's not an immediate risk! They did carry out gas analysis and ambient CO measuring and both tests were passed. The issue that the AA engineers noticed was the rust and the fact they could see some slight movement in the match's flame when put close to the turret. They wanted to tighten the...

Unsecured turret - Boiler at risk

How much space would you actually need around the turret to check and eventually replace seal? I am trying to minimize the disruption/costs. Of course I know that it would be better without the Cupboard but that is not an option at this stage. Also, is there any gas safety engineer serving...

Unsecured turret - Boiler at risk

I was thinking of cutting with a rotary tool around the turret (say about 5 inches each side instead of the current half inch) so that the screws of the turret seal are fully accessible. Will this make it possible to remove the turret and inspect the seal? Thanks M.

Unsecured turret - Boiler at risk

Many thanks for the feedback. Do you mean that a slope is allowed and therefore if water ingress occurs that is something that is allowed by regulation? What do you advise to do? Call a Gas Safe engineer, give him access to the turret (so removing the top shelf) and make him check that the...

Unsecured turret - Boiler at risk

Thanks for your feedback. I noticed that the outlet pipe has a downward slope which clearly favours water ingress. I understand there is a safety concern here of which I am liable as owner/occupier, but it was clearly bad installation practice from the builder. Is there any regulation with...

Unsecured turret - Boiler at risk

Hello everyone, I would like to hear your opinions on my situation. I have been with the AA for an annual boiler service since 2011, when I first purchased my flat. Since then, I never had an issue with my boiler, but this year some issues arose. The previous inspections until this...
