    Because a project is fun! I've just ordered 1600 lego bricks. [ O O O O ] [ O O O O ] 1600 of those bad boys :) I'm confident that they'll support the weight of a thick glass shelf and a TV. I just need flat pieces at the top.

    I had some massive inspiration this morning as I woke. Lego bricks? I don't know how many I'd need though, probably quite a few - lol. I'd have a 6x6 structure around each leg (with a 2x2 hole in the middle) mainly using 2x4 bricks, 4 on each tier. I might change my mind when I can't pick up...

    I've considered that, I was hoping to buy an identical stand, so that I could have multiple glass shelves. But ideally I'd want a tier tall enough for my PC, so it would need to be 70cm :-/

    I did indeed mean 63mm - lol The problem is, the tubes would still have to support the weight of the TV? I considered the sort of tubes you get for clothes rails, but it just seems like a ridiculously expensive idea.

    Amending a TV stand.

    I bought a TV Stand on eBay, but have decided I want to make it taller. Each leg is supported with M8 threaded rod, screwed in at the top and bottom, I know I can buy 1m lengths of M8 rod, but I don't know what to use to replace the 630mm diameter metal legs. Any ideas would be welcomed.
