Just spoke to our district planning dept and they say you need planning permission for a wall next to a path and highway....rediculious when it's replacing a 10ft hedge to a 6ft wall. Will just have to see if people put a complaint in as its pretty much finished

Thanks. Why would a neighbour question it though? That's the worrying bit when it's costing £3-4000 (it's a big wall)

Hello I don't know if anyone can help. Mum and dad had 10ft conifers around there garden as a wall as such, this has been there for 25 years plus. This has now died and they have decided to put a nice wall there, 6ft piers with a 4ft fence between each pier round the garden. This is on an...
