    Switched on ceiling light recently and went pop, and fuse tripped.After resetting fuse, light did not function,changed blown bulb and still didn't work.Light is connected to a double switch and other light connected to switch works.Decided to get a simple ceiling rose as I assume the old light...

    1 gang or 2 gang power socket

    Hi I am installing an extra double socket in the bedroom and running a spur from an existing socket.The existing socket has 2 cables running into it so I think it is ok to run a spur from it?.The new double socket I am fitting should be 1 gang or 2 gang,1 way or 2 way? thanks :)

    Ok.Tried putting 1 of the black with the 2 red'L' and the other black in the 'N'.light came on but did not go off from the switch.Tried swapping the blacks around, but that just blew the fuse in the fuse box :(

    I am having problems wiring a new ceiling light. The new ceiling light only has 2 connections.'L' and 'N'.I have 2 cables coming from the ceiling.Each cable has Red, Black and earth .The 2 reds are joined together and the blacks are separate.I have tried wiring the reds to the live in the light...
