Just one final thing; as the oven has come with factory fitted 13 amp plug Im assuming it would be allowable to plug it into a ring main if it (socket) were accessible. Is this correct?

Thanks for the quick reply, Yes extension is subject to building control although the 'new' kitchen is where the original kitchen was in the old part of the building. Have read through the pages but am getting confused with what is allowed etc........ I don't mind waiting for sparky to come...
