    Fitting 3"x4" Timber posts tight

I want to remove 3 load bearing timber posts. I have asked the structural engineer and they said to double up the next three posts on the line with new 3"x4" timbers. I checked this with building control and they were fine with it. The timber posts will bear on a wall plate at the bottom...

    Pressure tank or Megaflow???

I've bought a house that needed refurbishment. Before it only had a bath and I want to add a shower to that main bathroom and add an ensuite downstairs. I noticed the hot water was not very strong and so we checked the flow rate and pressure. The pressure is 4 bar which I assume is quite...

    Toilet waste connection

I can see that might work but it doesn't sound very secure when all the pipe is being held in with is a bead of silicon. If the silicon fails for any reason then I've got...

    Toilet waste connection

Not quite sure what you mean with this. If the new toilet sits forward of the wall its no problem, we can just build some studwork for the cisten to sit against. The question is how to add a 40mm waste and how best to remove and replace the collar without broken bits falling down the drain.

    Toilet waste connection

Hello. I would like to connect a 40mm shower and basin waste into the side of a pan connector. I notice you can only buy pan connectors to add a 40mm waste when the connector is fitted horizontally. I want to fit the 40mm just above ground height as I don't have enough fall from the shower tray...

    Damp section of wall

Nope. We plastered in waterproof plaster and its coming through in a couple of small areas but theres nothing that could be causing the damp. And no, I'm not on a pub route home! I always use the flowerbed personally!

    Damp section of wall

I have a weird bit of damp on my wall. I have an injected DPC and the damp section seems to sit above the DPC. I bought a damp meter and its shows that the wall is perfectly dry underneath the damp patch but the patch itself is very damp. There are no water pipes anywhere near the patch and...
