    Click clack waste mechanism

Hi Roddy, Thanks for your message, and thanks for unscrewing the bolt from your sink! It does look like exactly the right thing - I tried contacting Victorian Plumbing but they weren't very helpful... I decided to just order it and take a look. If it doesn't fit then I'll just return the...

    Click clack waste mechanism

Hi, thanks for the replies. There doesn't seem to be an access panel on the side of the bath, so I don't think it would be easy to change the waste - I'd have to remove a load of tiles and cut an access panel.. Ideally I'd like to keep the push mechanism, rather than use a rubber plug. It's...

    Click clack waste mechanism

Hi all, I just moved into a new house and part of the click clack waste mechanism is missing from the bath. The sink is the same mechanism and has a plastic pop up contraption. I've tried googling but I can't find the right thing. I've attached two photos - the sink showing the existing...

    Render over flashing

Thanks everyone for your responses. From what Tony says it might not be possible to prove whether the work keeps the water out or not. It seems quite unfair that I might be required to prove something that is unprovable. Next time it's raining I'll go up in to the loft and check both chimney...

    Render over flashing

It's difficult to tell because it's just a big damp patch on the chimney breast. It certainly hasn't dried out at all since the work was done two weeks ago. I took some photos a few days ago, so I'll wait a week, take some more and compare to see if the damp patch is growing.

    Render over flashing

It's actually too late for that. I confronted him about it over the phone, he got quite angry about it, raised his voice and said he wanted to come and remove the render. I specifically told him not to come and remove the render in case I needed to get a surveyor to assess the work if there...

    Render over flashing

Thanks for the comments!! I'm trying to decide whether to refuse to pay entirely, or offer a small payment in order to avoid a prolonged dispute. The guy has indicated that he'd be happy to go to court over it. He told me that currently I'm in breach of contract. This is what I've been...

    Render over flashing

Hi, I recently had some work done to fix 2 leaking chimneys - damp patches were appearing around the chimney breasts. The invoice for £250 listed: "Carried out repairs to brickwork", "apply sealant to flashings" and "using spray apply brick sealant to rear of both stacks". After the...
