Hi all,

I just moved into a new house and part of the click clack waste mechanism is missing from the bath. The sink is the same mechanism and has a plastic pop up contraption. I've tried googling but I can't find the right thing.

I've attached two photos - the sink showing the existing mechanism, and the bath where it's missing..

Any ideas where I can get a replacement part would be very appreciated!

Thanks in advance...

Hi, thanks for the replies.

There doesn't seem to be an access panel on the side of the bath, so I don't think it would be easy to change the waste - I'd have to remove a load of tiles and cut an access panel..

Ideally I'd like to keep the push mechanism, rather than use a rubber plug. It's not controlled from the overflow, but by pushing the plug down. A second push lifts it up and lets the water run out.

I just need to buy the little plastic, spring loaded mechanism you can see from the first photo. It will screw into the nut in the bath waste (second photo), and then the plug screws into that. But I can't seem to find these online anywhere!

Hello,
I think this is similar to our sink waste:

https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk...JeDTCyz5iYlrZ3oPJYxoCXO0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

It's an EK303 by Hudson Reed.
As you can see in the photos, the white plastic hexagon can be unscrewed from within the sink.

If your waste is a bigger diameterm, maybe you could phone and speak with them. Hopefully you can buy a spare plastic bit; otherwise buy the whole thing and use the new plastic mechanism and chrome top in your bath.

(The bottom photo shows a hexagon Allen key going in to the right end - that's just to hold it while I removed the chrome top - but you've done that already)

Hi Roddy,

Thanks for your message, and thanks for unscrewing the bolt from your sink!

It does look like exactly the right thing - I tried contacting Victorian Plumbing but they weren't very helpful...

I decided to just order it and take a look. If it doesn't fit then I'll just return the whole thing.

I'll keep you posted!

Hi again Roddy,

Are you sure you gave me the right link?! The waste arrived but it’s a metal pop up…

Hello again,

aaaargh!

When we had our house built 10 years ago, the plumber was asked to order EK303 for the shower room and EK304 for the en-suite.
I just checked and your new one looks like our other one.
It appears he installed them the wrong way round.

(It's unlikely he bought altogether different items - I do trust him.....)
I'm very sorry to have led you astray. Very frustrating.

If you are courageous enough, try an EK304.
EK304 is described as unslotted. Is yours unslotted? (The slot is for the overflow)

Hudson Reed do not show these on their website, so they may have stopped production. Try phoning them.

I wish you success.

Apologies again,

Roddy
