    yes, the wires went straight out the back through the wall. also the unswitched socket has been removed and the FCU wired in correctly.

    yes, the single switched socket is part of a ring. also, the other side of the wall is tiled, so most probably whoever installed the FCU for the undercabinet heater didn't want to break into the tiles (or didnt have the tools to do so).

    in my kitchen i have 2 double sockets on one wall, however, when the switch of a single socket on the opposite side of the wall (in the garage) is turned off, these two double sockets are turned off as well!! :shock: (there isnt anything plugged into the offending single socket either)...
