    Thanks guys, you've just confirmed what I supected. As far as I'm concerned I've always thought that if I'm going to have a bath then the hot waters on anyway, voila..warm bathroom. I might consider the joint piping to the HW and CH supplies though, personally I'm quite happy the way it is...

    I've got a small rad in the bathroom of my flat that only heats up when the hot water is on. It doesn't get warm at all when just the heating is on (18,000 BTU balanced flue boiler) I've tried balancing the rads and bleeding them, any ideas.     Before you do anything drastic, where is the stopcock leaking from? Have tried tightening the gland nut?

    It's leaking slightly from behind the gland nut, if I shut it off the leak stops. Can I tighten the nut while holding the handle or are they joined together? Or do I have to replace the whole thing? Cheers
