Hi, I have recently moved into a new home and have a new shower fitted. A mixer shower, brand new. As far as I can tell the inlets are connected correctly to the h and c connections. The boiler is Combi and the shower is suitable for all systems (Mira Atom ERD) I cannot get any hot water from...

    Another Rad sizing question

Hello all, I hope your are well. My question is that if I have a Dining room that sweeps through to a sitting room, without any real seperation, i.e. double doors / wall, can I treat the rooms as one room? Additionally, I am not having the greatest of luck finding a calc that covers a...

It will fill until the float is elevated enough to close the valve. Have you checked at what level the float valve closes and that it isn't held open a tad by crud?

    Combi Boiler question

What boiler is it? How old is the boiler? Do you get it regularly serviced? Have you had any other boiler engineer come and have a look, if you are concerned that the current boiler engineer is 'rogue'? So you are saying your hot water is sometimes hot and sometimes warm? You are saying...

Thanks for your help and advice, it's much appreciated by a cack-handed eejit like me. Don't put yourself down. You have the good idea to seek advice and thats more than alot of people do. As far as the tiles are concerned, don't worry too much about it. If you use the correct adhesive and...

    New Shower kit connectors

[/url] Getting the exact 150mm spacing is key, but if you have already weighed out for these, you might just try your hand at it. After all, you can connect them and mark off for the hole centers and positioning.

New combi = No more shower curtain + Waterproof walls

Your pipework arrangement seems to be a good design, but see if you can pipe with soldered fittings instead, since it will all be in the wall. Either way, I highly recommend fitting individual isolating valves on the shower supplies as well.

    New Shower kit connectors

Lol, the chrome threaded part is the nut. Take the chrome threaded part off, insert fitting into the pipe with olive, put chrome threaded part back on and seal.

Boiler constantly fires - strange Y/S plan hybrid??

Hopefully some of the more experienced guys on here can offer some better insight, but, for me it sounds like you have two extra 2 port valves on a Y-plan. Not sure why you would need them though if the three port is functioning correctly. Have you got a diagram of yourfull system?

    Cast soil stack

Certainly don't smash it up, you are bound to end up with bits in the stack. Cut just above the join you want to get at, so you can get a purchase on the pipe section left to remove.
