    Kitchen wooden worktop

    Hi, don't know what the old oil was as have just moved into house. I left it probably a good hour after washing it down before oiling & throghly dried with cloth. I don't mind the faded look I guess I'm just worried that the oil I applied hasn't worked / been on properley.

    Why don't Victotian houses have fascia boards?

    Might be a really daft question this but.... Old Victotian houses with solid walls don't have fascia boards. Why do new houses need fascia boards? What's the advantage of them? Seems to me better off not having them as less to maintain!

    Hi, I did 3 coats. Each time I washed the worktop down with warm soapy water, put the oil on liberally with a lint cloth then left it 10 minutes and wiped the oil off with a fresh cloth.

    Help! What type of oil / how should I be applying it to my kitchen worktop. I bought some ronseal clear oil which I applied at Christmas but it doesn't seem to have worked and the worktop is now looking faded
