Height from top of foundation to existing dpc

Hi woody yes my new floor will be a concrete slab. After your previous post I was looking at using 2 blocks which would take me to 450 then cutting another one down to 190 in hight to get to my 650 internal floor level. So on the opening for my bi fold doors leave the cut down block and return...

Height from top of foundation to existing dpc

Thanks woody, yeah think I've made a balls up already but to be fair at the side I wouldn't have been able to go much higher unless I made shuttering. So I'll have to cut blocks to suite. Just to confirm it's to make it level with the top of my floor boards inside? Thanks for your help

Height from top of foundation to existing dpc

Thank you all for replys. Woody I have only just seen yours and after doing research I'm still not 100% sure I've done the right thing; I laid the foundations on Saturday at around 460 below existing dpc which I am now having a few issues figuring out how to build up to floor level! My main...

    Air ducts through slab

Hi, my BCO officer said that the air ducts can be run through either the hardcore, concrete or insulation in the slab. Personally I don't think id like to lose insulation. Does anyone have any advise on what part of the build up to run it through? Is it ok to make my existing air bricks to suite...

Height from top of foundation to existing dpc

Thanks for this information. I take it I have to make my new Dpc level the same as existing? It's just that my dpc level is about 2 courses below finished floor level. When I do my floor slab does that membrane below the concrete have to tie in with my dpc or can I make it higher? Many thanks

Side of garage wall / porch

Hi, I was planning on having one side of the steel being supported on on the existing exterior wall and the otherside to run over to the new cavity wall on the garage. I take it this will be ok to do? Do you know how much of the steel is required to be sitting on the wall, I have read up...

Side of garage wall / porch

Thanks for reply, I'm happy to make it single skin wall. The porch is not very wide so don't want to make it any smaller. I was going to have a steel from the right side of garage to the lest of porch ?

Side of garage wall / porch

Hi I have had planning permission accepted and have submitted a building notice which I will probably change to full plans once my foundations and oversite are complete. I am unsure whether my wall between my porch and garage can be either a stud wall or if I have to use brick(if so what's the...
