PRD problem with Triton Amber III Shower

Many thanks for your help Terry. Triton have told me that any Triton head will be suitable (the original also had a multi spray pattern facility),but that as the flat is in a hard water area, the heating element is likely to be furred up after at least six or seven years use. They also think I...

PRD problem with Triton Amber III Shower

Yes, as I said, I followed the commissioning instructions to the letter (from the pdf sheet from Triton), including rotating the temperature dial, with water still running, from minimum to maximum several times to release any trapped air within the unit. There was a constant stream of cold...

PRD problem with Triton Amber III Shower

In 2014 I bought a flat with a Triton Amber III Shower fitted over the bath. The long-standing tenant moved out recently, and I fitted a new shower hose and a new genuine Triton shower head with a multi-spray facility. Unfortunately, when I turned on the shower, water came out of the bottom of...

Removing old sliding patio door lock and handle assembly

Thanks for replying, but is it as easy as that? That was why I was asking the question.

Removing old sliding patio door lock and handle assembly

I want to remove the old lock and handle, and replace it with a P25 lock and handle from Handlestore.com. Can anyone tell me how to make sure the lock doesn't drop down inside the white door frame when I unscrew it please?

Broken GU10 Light bulb in flush fitting

My son has a four-lamp hall light fitting, with the GU10 light bulbs sitting flush with their housings. Using the correct bulb remover to twist out a dead bulb, the glass front came off, leaving the rest of the bulb in the fitting. Any ideas on the best way to remove what is left please?

Toilet seat fixing access on BTW WC

Sorry Andy. I've just discovered that a new seat will include new fittings anyway.

Toilet seat fixing access on BTW WC

Thanks Andy. Very helpful. Is it possible to retrieve the old ones by carefully loosening the existing fixings?

Toilet seat fixing access on BTW WC

I need to replace the toilet seat on a back to the wall Jacuzzi Damea WC, which does not allow access from the front or side to the fixing nuts on the underside. I do not really want to remove the whole pan to get at any seat retaining nuts. Is there an easy way to do this?

Mortice Deadlock keys will not turn bolt

I removed the lock from the door this weekend, opened up the cover and sprayed a little WD40 on to the moving parts. After replacing the cover, I tried one of the keys and it turned the lock first time. All three keys now turn the lock from both sides. Problem solved.

Mortice Deadlock keys will not turn bolt

Thanks John. I fitted the lock myself, to replace an older one, and it was working in April 2014. Since then I'm pretty sure the young lady tenant has not tampered with it, and nor has anyone else. I will remove the lock and its cover, and check the levers with a key as you suggest. Maybe the...

Mortice Deadlock keys will not turn bolt

I have a Union 3G114E 5-Lever Mortice Deadlock C-Series 80mm case in the front door of a tenanted flat. The lock was new in 2014, and supplied with three keys, one of which I kept. The tenant has not been using this deadlock (I'm not sure why), and now none of the three keys will turn the bolt...

How do I remove a Danfoss Radiator Valve?

I still can't see any movement of the pin Ian - not even 1mm - nothing at all. With the body of the TRV off, and held in my hand, I can turn the dial clockwise from max down to *, but I have to push down on the dial (and there is a resisting clicking) to turn it finally to "0". I have just tried...

How do I remove a Danfoss Radiator Valve?

Thanks Ian but, as I said earlier, I have been unable to get the pin moving. I have tried twisting it gently with pliers, prising it gently upwards etc, but no movement. That is why I was surprised when the heat suddenly started to come through. I would guess that the pin is locked in the open...

How do I remove a Danfoss Radiator Valve?

Many thanks Ian. I did realise it was an old thread, but it was still relevant to my query, so I hoped people who helped before might clarify things for me. As it happens, I only had to unscrew the dark grey collar underneath the white body, which I was then able to wiggle off. There were no...

How do I remove a Danfoss Radiator Valve?

I have the same problem - a stuck pin ( I think). Could someone please detail which tabs have to be removed before the top will come off, and the best way to remove them? Can the tops be refitted properly even after the tabs have been released, or are the tabs then useless?

    Potterton EP2002 Control Panel

Yes. You need to push in that slot with an ordinary straight-bladed screwdriver to dis-engage the plastic tab on the unit from the baseplate. Don't forget that it is the whole front panel unit that swings away from the baseplate (not just the front part of it where you can see another joint...

Hot water timed "On" period not always activated.

Thanks guys. It appears that the programmer clock was failing to send a signal to the tank stat, and so the H/W motorised valve was not getting a feed from the stat, and it was staying closed. I replaced the EP2002 with the new, more flexible, EP2 yesterday, and the hot water problem seems to...
