    Thanks. I actually painted the tile, ruined them and will now replace all tiles and possibly bathroom suite. Quick fix has turned into a valuable lesson.

    Sorry say it fails HHSRS on damp and mould growth. They will defo be alarmed when you mention HHSRS and you will get something done.

    Pressed reply by accident... A shower without tiling will flake the paint like that. Alternatively ag them saying the paint flaking off fails the Housing Health and Safety Ratings System (HHSRS) and they need to fix it (tile round bath/shower.) that should get you started and can then paint...

    They're ok as far as HQS/Decent Homes Standard is concerned then. Your last option is to complain about the paint flaking, more than likely due to either shower or mixer taps fitted - the shower has then wet the walls. If shower fitted tell them it needs additional tiling or will continue to...

    There is the HHSRS and Housing Quality Standard they need to adhere to. How old is the kitchen and boiler? Is it gas or storage rads?

    I have a dated feature tile to the centre of the bathroom ceramic tiles - see attached photo. I'm looking at the cheap option of painting them white. However there are 2 curved silver strips above and below the tile. Will this look shoddy if painted with a brush? Many thanks Nick
