    Tiling concrete/suspended timber floor

Hi Vinn Looking at the floor more closely it looks like it really needs replacing, some of the joists are rotten. This way I can secure all the joists etc and hopefully have a stable surface to tile to. Lots of hard work to do after the easter holidays!

    Tiling concrete/suspended timber floor

Hi Vinn, many thanks for your reply. The joists look fairly new, BUT they are just sitting on bricks/slate with no supports. I suspect this was a bodge job done a few years ago before we got the house. I am ripping out the kitchen/doors (everything) so height will not be a problem, the floors...

    Tiling concrete/suspended timber floor

Hi I hope somebody can give me some advice. I am going to tile our kitchen floor in April (normal porcelain tiles). The floor is half concrete and half suspended timber (the surface of the suspended floor is 22mm large floor panels). I can see the suspended floor is not stable (it moves...

Wiring - Replacing Siemens RWB7 with Siemens RCR10 thermostat

Unfortunately the way the boiler has been installed (its floor standing, against the wall with the cables going into the back) it looks very hard to trace the cables, which I know would be ideal. Do you think I may need to call and electrician as don't want to damage the boiler with a wrong...

Wiring - Replacing Siemens RWB7 with Siemens RCR10 thermostat

Hello Not sure if anyone can help. I have bought a new thermostat to replace an existing programmer. I hoped (wrongly!) that if I got the same make it would be a simple case of connecting 1 to 1, 2 to 2 etc, never that easy. Would anybody know what wires go where (eg 2 to L1)? I have...

Wireless thermostat Grant Combi 90 v3

Hello Hopefully a quick question and somebody can help, I have a Grant Combi 90 V3 boiler and wish to add a wireless thermostat. At the moment it only has a Siemens RWB7 programmer attached (no thermostat). We only use this to turn the heating on/off using the select button when the heating...
