    Thanks guys should have added that the column is built onto existing brick foundations 150mm wide.When built and lintel added it creates a doorway with existing 150mm wall. Fills a space originally removed for stairs.

    Hi plans require a tied blockwork column to support an f type lintel. Problem is column should be 400-500 wide perpendicular to existing stone wall. Blockworks 440 standard.     Thanks woody thats great. Wall starter strip on passed warrant plans. Be interested what should tie the blocks to the stone wall. Specs on wall starter strip clearly intended for nice straight brickwork. Guess technician's never built a wall.!
