If you can’t see underneath, try squeezing a phone in somewhere to take a photo? Please don’t drop the phone between the boards though!
Or a decent endoscope might help; the cheapo eBay/Amazon jobs typically don’t focus more than a few inches away so might not be much help.
Otherwise…...
That simple! Anyway the reed switch has gone missing, quite possibly when bathroom was ripped apart for re-fit. New pump maybe, at least. Thanks again Stem.
Great stuff thanks Stem. Yes the wire's missing, the installer can't figure out how it connects at the controller (it was taken apart by someone else before the re-fit). I'll have a look later / see if I can locate terminals on the controller. Otherwise, the mixer works OK so might look at...
Thanks guys. It's a flat cable all right. Pink. Shower's unbranded and I can't find any paperwork that came with it. Away atm so will post photos next time am home (might help someone else here one day, never know).
Think I might soon have this problem! Would external valve fixings help?

Recently had a bathroom re-fit and ended up with the shower not working properly.
The original shower was fitted 20+ years ago. This has been put back. Before re-fit, there was what looked like speaker cable running from the shower valve to a pump (pump by hot water tank in airing cupboard). It...
I’m replacing very old fascia and soffits on our cottage.
Was going OK until we took a front fascia off and found the tilting fillet rotted.
The roof has cement fibre slates, nail and rivet – done 15-20 years ago. My gut feel is the rot’s taken place since (the timber feels dry atm but it’s...
Fix from side at an angle to fix to the bottom OSB. And come down from top , unless you've glued DPM right to the edge already? Ensure fixings don't protrude so DPM is protected. Otherwise something like Sticks Like Sh*t to secure at the top.
In any case, to avoid having to chisel out all that...
Would it help if you could fix a board (20mm thick say) between the OSB layers at the edge (so that it's face would be flush with the edges of the OSB)? The insulation would need to be trimmed back somehow so this board could slot in place, so to speak. Is everything already fixed in place?
Happily took a bucket from the beach when short for a concrete mix recently. Easier than 15 mile round trip to builders' merchant. Probably not strictly allowed - aren't beaches owned by Crown Estate or something? Up to a point at least?
Thanks catlad.
Had another look and removed part of the fascia. Both parts were nailed together so must’ve gone on that way. So reckon you’re right with sourcing deep enough fascia. Or maybe just more economical to use two pieces whenever their ‘standard’ board was too narrow.
Can of worms –...
Replacing rotten fascia. Detached bungalow with half hip slate/tile roof.
Existing fascia's in two pieces all the way around. Bottom pieces look like upside down skirting board. Above this there's a narrower strip (about 35mm wide). You can see this in the photo.
Anyone please know if there...
I'd be interested to know how Deeplas is better than Eurocell too.
Otherwise, FWIW, I've found Eurocell to be cheaper than anything else on line :-| This was specifically for black ash replacement boards though - obviously more expensive than capping boards and any colour other than white is...
New ceiling. Room is about 5m x 2m - battens running lengthways along the 5m, 40cm centres.
Thinking of using 8' x 4' tapered edge plasterboard, trimming the length of the boards to the 2m width of the room and fixing across the battens. The end result would look a bit like a ladder in my mind...
Thanks Woody. The space tapers due to flat roof slope - any idea if it'd be safe to fill awkward gaps (after packing with PIR) with expanding foam? Overkill?
In practise I think the expanding foam 'wedges' in the pic would taper from about an inch to next to nothing.
