Is my neighbour drainging their bath into the gutter?

The use two two hoppers seems Also odd that they fitted a whole extra bit of downpipe and second hopper instead of just running the bath pipe straight to the lower hopper:unsure:

Is my neighbour drainging their bath into the gutter?

Today I noticed my neighbour's hopper was overflowing, even though it wasn't raining. Then I noticed the water appeared to be steaming, although admittedly it was chilly. Then I noticed it comes from a pipe near their bathroom and I started to wonder. Are they drainging thei bath into the gutter??

Liz Truss backs down on 45p tax rate cut in humiliating U-turn

"Liz Truss backs down on 45p tax rate" So policy is now determined by Twitter outrage and opinion polls. The ultimate in populism. Well done everyone. Carry on as usual, the same fiscal approach that got us into this mess will surely get us out. :ROFLMAO:

Is this a normal price to quote for so little work?

Ugh, I don't even need an electrician I would do it myself except but kitchen supplier needs it to be 'signed off' or something. Kinda wish they'd mentioned this extra cost during the quote period, it's adding nearly 30% to the actual fitting cost!

Is this a normal price to quote for so little work?

I'm having a new kitchen installed. There are sockets on the wall already, but two of them will now have cabinets placed over them, so I need two surface-mount sockets inside the cabinets now, in front of the existing wall sockets. Electrician has quoted £280 for two surface mount sockets and...

Ideas on bedding plants or shrubs?

You can dig compost into the soil but never put horse manure 'in' the soil, it is far too rich and will act more like a poison. You put maure on top of the soil; rain will then leach the goodness into the ground gradually.

    Liz Truss Said

Everyone who spends money is ultimately paying tax somewhere along the line. Truss won't turn off the money hose, no politician will. Inflation is here to stay.

Where's the best place to buy door furniture please ?

If you need hinges buy firedoor/ballbearing hinges, they're great quality and surprisingly cheap (screwfix is fine for firedoor hinges). I have found Zoo brand hardware to be very good for latches etc. https://www.handles4u.co.uk/brand/Zoo+Hardware/3008345031

    UK housing stock

I agree that there's nothing inherently wrong with modern materials and techniques, but disagree that 'regulation' would fix it. Regulation is what got us here -the Town and Country Planning Act 1947 which favours big corporates. All the nicest homes I have seen are the rare ones being built by...

Putting up a big ladder by yourself

Throw the rope over a bit of the scaffold. Might take a few tries. Or put the rope over the ladder itself like you see here: My dad used to put up a long ladder by 'bouncing' it against the wall while pushing up, until you can advance it one more rung while it's mid-bounce. Rince and repeat. I...
