Hi, thanks for the reply. It's a 5kW and the room is fairly well insulated from draughts etc. I always have the curtains shut when it's on. Originally the height above he stove was a lot less (2 courses of bricks) and when I raised that the heat output into the room improved dramatically.

Hi, new to this forum so go easy on me! I've had a wood burner installed in my 1930's house for around a year but it isn't giving off much heat into the room. I'm pretty sure it's sat too far back in the recess and most of the heat is going into the brickwork so I want to move it forward...
