Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life problems....Or are they???

Yes, sorry, that's still the case and since there doesn't seem to be any solution, like many other, I'm stuck.

Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life problems....Or are they???

I've checked my settings 1-b8 is at 33% and 1-c2 is at 89%. But the issue is related to where the boiler diverts to DHW and back to CH

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

My big apologies for not reply sooner. Just had one issue after another. I just came back to say a big thank you to:- @Burnerman @SFK @freddiemercurystwin @scbk Door handle - SFK was spot-on about the door locking plate. It is supposed to be a sharp 90-degree angle, but this had bent so it...

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Thanks very much for the links and info @scbk and @Burnerman - I've already ordered from Dunsley, but if they don't dispatch the items soon, I'll order them from here. Problem I have is that I can only find Dunsley selling the handle that I need and any other places are out of stock, so I'm...

Not sure how much that will help. I wish someone knew, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life problems....Or are they???

Sadly I'm still stuck with this boiler as I can't afford to move to another one. Still the same issues and yes putting the CH on for an hour or two makes little difference. It needs to be on for 4-5 hours for the house to warm up reasonably. Even then we've all got to avoid opening the hot...

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

@Burnerman - Haha, you and me both need to get out more  @scbk - Why 25m? I mean the rope should last around 5 years at least and with 25m drum, it'll last you your entire life. Also what type of rope have you bought? Do you have a link? Thanks

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Ahh right, sorry! haha. I'm not too clever and this is the first time I've heard of Whitworth threads, but I've learnt something new here.

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Yeah I should have bought the items such as glue individually to get them cheaper, but you live and learn :) What type of tape do I need? Have you got a link? I have checked and Whitworth stoves done't look like my Dunsley Highlander 5 Slimline.

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

I've definitely checked it and it's 13mm :) Anyway I've ordered the handle, rope and adhesive, but I must say that the Dunsley staff are really rude and pushy. I gave all my details, including the bank card and at the end I'm told that the parts won't even be dispatched until the end of the...

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Thanks @Burnerman and @freddiemercurystwin - I've give this a try and let you know how I get on. I'm going to first order the handle before removing the old one as removing it now will mean the door will remain open and all the draft will be rushing up the chimney. I tried the 12mm socket...

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

I never said that I've not got a spanner or a ratchet set, haha. What I said was that I was a bit apprehensive in trying to open it and it looks like my fears have turned out to be true. I've used a ratchet set to prise open the nut and the bolt/nut has now snapped. The nut is stuck in the...

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

@SFK - which plate are you referring to? Don't suppose you can mark it for me? @freddiemercurystwin - I'm willing to try this, although a little apprehensive that I might do more damage than good.

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Hi @SFK - Thanks very much for the info and links. I did suspect that it's some issue with the washer or spring, but the problem is that I can't even take off the handle as the nut (circled in red) is jammed.

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Morning John. Hope your good. I'm not too sure about that. From looking at the door hinges, it seems that I can simply lever the pegs out with something like a straight-edged screwdriver. Anyway, to assist you, here's a link to the photo/video album of the stove and I hope this helps. Stove...

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Yes, I can see the bar moving along with the catch/latch No, you've got this wrong. The door opens fine, but I was referring to take door totally off by removing it's pegs.

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Thanks very much for the compliment, I tried my best, haha :) Yes I believe I can take the door off it's pegs by using a straight screwdriver to wedge it off. Why? I'm now very curious as to what you were you thinking off doing.

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Hi and thanks very much for your reply and assistance John. There's no screw, but there's a nut on the inside of the door handle that's not opening or tightening and the handle is also loosely spinning around as there is a couple of millimetres gap. I've done the following diagram in Microsoft...

Freezing Cold due to Woodburning/Multifuel Stove handle faulty and rope messed up

Hello everyone. Sorry I couldn't find any category to post this on, so I'm posting in the General DIY category. We've got a Dunsley Highlander 5 Slimline stove (multifuel) which has been working great for the last 5 years. However over the last couple of weeks, the stove has been struggling...

Ground floor feeling colder after floor insulation

Thanks @George_engineer and @^woody^ I've taken your comments on board and will order a few humidity sensors. If it was just me feeling it, I would put it down to 'maybe it's just me', but when I've got family members and friends complaining of the same issue, I feel there's more to it. I...
