About 6 months ago bedroom 1 had a ceiling rose put in replacing an old light fitting that is when the problem has occurred but at that time bedroom 3 was not in use so the problem was never noticed.

I didn't try swapping them because wasn't sure if it would trip but tried all combinations before I got there and not tripped just the odd light not working. Anyway thank you very much for your help on the matter all sorted now.

After all that it was a light I had never touched! Maybe my wiring skills arnt so bad

Yes gym room last room with white lamp shade you can see weight bench in video. Before I tidied up cable with choc block in decorative light fittings (bathroom & hallway) the gym room light didn't come on at all.

Heres the video, last 2 rooms are the problem. Small gym room is original fault.

I have some knowledge of how circuits work and hopefully with the help of you guys will get it sorted today although I feel we are going a little off topic here

I didnt mark them just took pictures but looking at 'halllway' and 'hallway fix' and 'bathroom' 'bathroom fix' from what I can see it is wired up as was before just in choc blocks rather than ceiling rose, would you agree?

UPDATE - Ok after replacing the rose with choc blocks inside the hallway seem i have messed something up. The bedroom (bedroom3) i originally posted about now works but when switch on turns the light on in bedroom1 (dim). This process also vice versa. The Bathroom is working nomally but hall...

i might go and get one tomorrow can you pick one up cheap from crew fix, i have no idea what im looking for on a meter though never used one

well i put L1 into com to check and still nothing but might try a complete new rose, lamp holder and switch tomorrow.

lol i will open it up again tomorrow come away from it now its doing my head in! all light working apart from original fault.

ok for everyone concerned i have tidied the 2 decorative light connections myself. now connection in all terminals are tight, tidy and secure but light is still not coming on...although i have yet changed that lamp holder to see if its that i will do that tomorrow moring. Pictures attached of...
