    Narrow pillars, cavity wall

P.31 in the online version I see. As I read it, our windows are 750 wide, so P2 (a typical bit of wall between them) should be greater than or equal to (750+750)/5. (5 is from Table 8. 1500/5 is 300, which is smaller than the width of one block. So we're OK assuming all other conditions in the...

Ta. Even when they are only one block wide with a window each side? Great :-)

    Narrow pillars, cavity wall

Please can someone help with my question? A garden building will have one-block-wide, 2m high narrow pillars between tall windows, supporting a flat roof. The wall is insulated brick/block cavity. What is the correct way to build the pillars, for adequate strength, without joining them at the...

worried about building regs ,project partially built

BC won't tell you to knock it down but could cause huge hassle and £££ over minor things that won't make it fall down! I would finish it and say nothing. Its immune from BC after a year and if they sell they can give seller indemnity insurance for less £££ than lining BCs pockets!

Good grief, bernardgreen is likely not right here but there's ways to disagree without going off on one like a playground tyrant vinn. Betablockers.

Which sander it best to hire for final pine floor sanding

Seems to me that sanding "vintage" floorboards would lose the "vintage" effect. "Vintage" floorboards aren't sanded, they are just floorboards

    Sealing dusty concrete floor

It doesn't stay sticky. Don't see the problem happening with water but if worried could use waterproof PVA. PVA not recommended by some makers of wall tile adhesive but shouldn't be a problem with cementitious floor tile adhesive.

    PVA, yes, as you suggest.

Is there such a thing as cream caulk?

Most cream I've seen is yellower than magnolia ;-) Assume you mean silicone sealant? Decorator's caulk is something you paint over.
