i had a couple of boilers where the bearing on the fan had gone,, the fan doesnt always get up to speed,so the pressure switch,,,, wont switch lol.. hope i didnt confuse you there,, get an engineer in ,, if hes halfway decent, he will find the fault

a slightly cheaper option is to install a 2 port valve linked with a cylinder stat running off a 240 v supply in the cupboard if you have one,, once the set temerature on the stat is reached the valve cuts the flowfrom the central heating to the cylinder preventing it from overheating though it...

the 1st stopcock was probably put in by waterboard? makes sense to open coldwater on sink(thats the minimum point where you are meant to have coldwater mains at)and then start turning the stopcock...when the water stops running from the tap.. u can be certain the mains is shut off,,, dont dare...

speed fit and similar (hep 2 o) can be used for heating and hot and cold water ,,,, weve done a pressure test on them and found that they break at about 45 bar lol not on the rubber but at the seams funny enuf,, just dont use them on gas!!!!!!!!!!!

here is a tip... the nut is at the radiatorside!so on the right you loosen the nut towards the wall and vice versa on the left(thats with the spanner at the northpole :lol: ) dont forget to hold the valve in place with a pair of adjustables or u might end up with an insurance claim for a ruined...
