thanks oilhead it is about 5/6 inches when "normal". Water is being backfilling the large cold water tank at the pipe at the bottom of the tank where the cold water should flow to the Cylindernot and not via the open vent pipe

currently at about 7c when clicked. when I came back in house it must have activated the heating (as it should as I turned it to 10c). I have left it at 3c. I have also left the pipe stat at 12c. will this be ok? does this seem ok?

Frost stat is in garage. Pipe stat is on the return pipe also in the garage, as Is the boiler

P.s the boiler and lagged pipes are In the garage attached to the house

I think I understand how it works but I am happy for more expert view - If: the air temp drops below 3c and the water temp on the return pipe is below the set temp (I realise Honeywell recommend 25c) the boiler will stat up. there has to be two in conjunction otherwise it will not fire. The...
