    Skirting Height Limited

Hi, Our radiator pipes come out the wall (see image). This limits the height of our skirting, it means the skirting has to be under 85 cm which is small by today's standards. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we could get around this without moving the radiator pipes? On another note -...

    Sadolin superdec white

Hi. I bought some sadolin superdec white satin to paint my garage window after reading great reviews. Says on the tin it covers everything. I painted the first coat today and it’s like nothing has been painted on. The paint looked translucent when doing on. What did I do wrong? Pictures below.

Hi. It’s definitely an opaque colour but I was led to believe stain can also be opaque? I am going to give superdec a try. It says on the website it can cover stain or paint!

What would you do? Tiled floor

Thanks a lot! I’ll go with leaving them in place. Do we need to level off any chips in the tiles? They are in fairly good condition however there is a chunk out of 1 of them you might be able to see in the photo where I pulled an old nail out.

Hi all, We have taking up an old engineered wood floor that was damaged and uncovered an old tiled floor (see pictures). What would you do in this situation? Would you take up the tiled floor or leave it? We haven't decided whether to go carpet or wood again (it's a study) however my main...

    Cracks normal after skim?

Hi. We don’t want coving. Just to understand if this is the plasterers fault and needs to be fixed. Feedback from the plasterer is that tidying this up is the decorators job however the cracks are all along the top some a few MM wide and have a hollow sound above the crack. On top of that on...

    Cracks normal after skim?

Hi, We recently had a room skimmed. On the coldest wall (other side is garage) the wall has started developing cracks (see photos) near the top of the wall close to the ceiling. Is this normal? Is this just a case of fill and move on or is it something more worrying? Thanks, Andy
