    Wet underfloor heating brand recommendations?

As above, has anyone got a actual experience of fitting wet underfloor heating systems and which systems would you recommend? So far I'm looking at John Guest, Polypipe, ProWarm and Continental UFH. I want to make sure I get a decent system and it's difficult to compare the available ufh kits...

    Tall kitchen corner unit?

Thanks John. The Le Mans looks like what I’m after but in a full height unit to go into a tall run of cupboards. I’ve seen photos of kitchens with full height units going around a corner before just not sure how they do it. I’ll try and post a sketch of what I mean when I get a minute.

    Tall kitchen corner unit?

I think you misunderstood what I’m looking for, Foxhole. I need a corner unit to go in first with the fridge and freezer either side of it. So some kind of double full height cupboard with only one door next to the freezer, the other side being blanked off to go against the fridge

    Tall kitchen corner unit?

What’s the best way to go into and around a corner in a run of TALL kitchen units? Most places seem to sell only base or wall corner units. I want to fit a full size fridge, full size freezer at either side of corner. I have a maximum of 1820mm wall to wall at one side and plenty (3750mm)...

Is manifold plumbing better than branching off?

Ok thanks to all for your replies. Would there be any advantage whatsoever then, in running the supply to the shower separately or will I just have to ban everyone from running the taps whilst I’m in the shower?

Is manifold plumbing better than branching off?

Thanks. So I guess I was conned when I was told I would get better flow with the biggest boiler?

Is manifold plumbing better than branching off?

The boiler is in the corner of the house with the kitchen sink position approx 3m away. The en-suite is directly above the boiler, the shower being approx 2m away and the main house bathroom is adjacent to the en suite. I was just trying to figure out if I should take a hot and cold in each...

Is manifold plumbing better than branching off?

Thanks again. Terry the mains water feeds a new combi boiler. The hot and cold come out below and above the boiler in 15mm.

Is manifold plumbing better than branching off?

Hi Bernard, thanks for taking the time to reply. I think I understand what you wrote. So the pressure along a branch pipe which is teed off to a number of appliances will reduce for each appliance in use, therefore the last appliance at the end of the run will have the least pressure? Is the...

Is manifold plumbing better than branching off?

Good morning. I’m looking for advice regarding plumbing the hot and cold around the house having built an extension and moved the kitchen and bathroom. There is an additional utility room and downstairs loo also. I’ve noticed that the Americans are big on manifolds and wondered if that would be...

Underfloor heating with central heating radiators.

Can anyone explain how ufh works with central heating already in place. We would like ufh in our new extension and I was wondering; If there are radiators without TRV’s fitted do I need a zone valve to prevent them warming up every time the ufh triggers the boiler? Thanks.

    Milano angled chrome valves/tails-no seals??

Thanks Hot&Cold yes I meant flow diverters. I opted for these as it’s possible to see straight through from flow to return on the bottom rail of the rads.

    Shared rainwater downpipe question?

Unfortunately we had a fallout with our neighbours so we do not speak to them and they don't speak to us.

    Milano angled chrome valves/tails-no seals??

Hi everyone. I'd appreciate some advice please. I have bought some Milano "minimalist" chrome radiator valves to fit to some vertical radiators. I also bought some flow restrictors due to them being fairly tall radiators. On unpacking the valves, I was surprised to find that the part where the...

    Shared rainwater downpipe question?

Hi everyone. I have done a bit of searching on here and on Garden Law forums, but cannot find an example of my exact query. I live in a semi detached ex local authority house. There is a shared downpipe between the properties both front and rear, exactly in the centre of the boundary line...

    Gas pipe sizing question

Not in this blockwork. The father in law did it spot on. Had comments about how good the blockwork was from the BCO who exclaimed “did he think you were painting it”!

    Gas pipe sizing question

I’m so sorry I am such a numpty! The boiler is a 38cdi not 28 so that probably changes things completely. The gas flow rate given is 4.2 IIRC. Since my original posting I have spoken to Gas Safe and they said it is correct that the gas pipe can go behind the dot n dab wall as long as there is...

WARNING - Misuse of Angle Grinder - Please read and do not attempt what I did !

Thank you for sharing your experience and for the warning. I am relieved to hear that you are ok. I would add that I have recently bought one of those multi tools and it is great for those awkward little jobs like removing floorboards, trimming the bottom from architraves and cutting pipes that...
