Advice on how to get onto corner of unsupported roof

Yes thats what I initially thought, but then I actually wondered if underneath it needs to be a full plank, could just be several short planks. Does not need to span the whole underneath I mean.

Advice on how to get onto corner of unsupported roof

Not sure if this is the right forum for this... I have this lean to roof that is polycarbonate sheets. But its leaking in the top right corner, the corner away from the front that I could reach on a ladder. The corner that has no sides for me to reach via a ladder. Its enclosed by walls. See...

How to unblock soil pipe without much access

I cut a hole in the attic floor to access it and it wasn't blocked. So I checked the outside drain... The people who did my drive recently concreted over the drain outside and put the cover on top! So I had no idea until I took the cover off. The concrete had collapsed in, blocked the drain and...

How to unblock soil pipe without much access

I think the soil pipe is blocked because all the bathroom drains are all slow and flushing the toilet makes water spurt up into the bath from the drain. I've tried a metal flexible snake thing but that didn't work. Plunging doesn't work. Ideally I could put drain rods down the top of the soil...

Condensation in loft - could it be bathroom extractor pipe not venting?

See attached image. The extractor fan pipe goes into the cavity between walls. Not best photo, the rafter is hiding it going in above the inner wall. I was told this setup is common. But this half of the attic has a soaking roof, it's dripping. You can top of rafters are wet. The other side (I...

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

The company that signed off the regs emailed me to say its "all in order". So can a room confirm to regs but be really cold?

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

I got a temperature monitor in and heated the room using a camping heater I have. - 8:45am today was 12 degrees C (rest of house about 17 degrees - door to attic closed) - Heated with a 1500W small camping heater for an hour - got to 16.5 degrees C - Turned heater off, then 1 hour later was...

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

You mean the floor of the attic, so ceiling above bedrooms? Thats the same as its always been, which is about 100mm fibreglass insulation, they didn't do anything with that so should be the same as it was.

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

Does anyone think the 2 sheets of actis triso is good enough to retain heat? It doesn't seem very thick. If it is, then I'm wondering if the veluxes are letting out all the heat? Or it occurred to me that the end walls probably don't have cavity wall insulation like rest of the house as they...

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

It's not 105mm I don't think anywhere near. You can see it in the video.

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

Here's a video. Just shows a few thin sheets and where I put my fingers down under it I can feel the plasterboard https://www.dropbox.com/s/fbwk80fgf8z8fxs/Loft%20Insulation.mov?dl=0

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

I'm going to upload a video to drop box as I really don't think there's a 105mm insulation there and looks like a few of those sheets only.

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

But the actis hybris 105mm looks like some sort of honeycomb system that's 105mm thick. I can't see that. But those sheets could be the actis tri-iso super 10. The first image may be deceiving. The foil between my thumb and finger is the top of vertical kingspan on walls, not ceiling insulation.

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

It's supposed to be this as per drawings but I don't know. I can't see or feel anything that's 105mm thick. It's just a few of those silver sheeting things above plasterboard.

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

If it's expected to be colder then it's not so bad. Maybe my expectations are too high. It's already not a high ceiling so I think I'd rather it be a bit colder than lose another say 100mm for more insulation. I can see the insulation is like white wool but inside these fiat silver bags, and...

Should new loft conversion to regs retain heat well, or will always lose heat fast?

It's about 7m by 4m. 4 velux west facing, 2 velux east facing. I've bought some temperature monitors from Amazon that record it in an app so I can see it over time and compare to elsewhere in the house. I'm hoping it's not heated up fast enough as opposed to losing temperature quick. The...

Best way to reduce high humidity in house

Thanks all for info and tips. I think I'll bite the bullet and try to keep house warmer and close windows. Just concerned about cost. I think the humidity is coming down with the posi vent now turned on max but it is taking a while. A week later it's more often 65 to 70 than 70 to 75. So...
