    Filling in uneven block workd

It's a pier using half blocks, so one side is fine, but the other side for which I had to use the block breaker varies +/- 40mm. I'm using dense blocks 440mm.

    Filling in uneven block workd

Hi guys Whats the best way to fill in unevenly cut blocks (using a manual block cutter)? I am going to render it soon, but since the block lengths are uneven due to the cutter, the blocks will need to be straightened out before filling in. I was going to do it with the render, but it won't have...

    Fitting Fascia boards

Hi guys I have fitted a flat roof with 6 inch furrings. One end of the roof joist section is around 250mm and the other end is 365mm. The plan is the fit in the fascia, and then install the classicbond sure edge trim on top of the fascia (using EPDM). My question is, does the fascia board need...

    Garage Door Lintel

Oh right, you're talking about stress points. If I put a block under the joist, then the weight will be evenly distributed across the block, no? and therefore the weight distribution across the lintel will span a larger area. It'll only be problematic if I put the joist directly on top of the...

    Garage Door Lintel

That's interesting. So what do you recommend? 8x3s for the flat roofing. It's essentially the lintel, 1 course of 100mm block work, then the joists. The joists won't be resting on the garage door btw, it'll be a single joist from one end to the other on the garage door wall, so there isn't too...

    Garage Door Lintel

I was going to pick on up from my local builder's merchant - a 2.4m 9x4 concrete lintel, but when I asked for the data sheet/loads they didn't know. Not entirely sure what to do. The lintel will only have half a course of 7.3N block work on top of it, and some 8x3s, hence why I think a standard...

    Garage Door Lintel

Hello Everyone, Is a concrete lintel sufficient for a garage door that is 2070mm wide? It will have two courses of dense blocks on top of it. If yes, then what dimensions should I be looking at as a minimum? This is a single skin garage BTW. I would go for a steel lintel but I am a bit over budget.
