Premier Elite 24 - flashed to v4 - Ricochet hilarity ensues

Ah, the Ricochet software. I thought for a moment you mean the Ricochet firmware.

Premier Elite 24 - flashed to v4 - Ricochet hilarity ensues

Wintex says the panel is currently at v4.02.01. I don't know if the Ricochet was flashed as part of the single flash I did? Yes when I deleted the devices (there's only 3 PIRs) I removed them completely so when I reprogrammed them they had the same numbers on the system. I've been attempting...

Premier Elite 24 - flashed to v4 - Ricochet hilarity ensues

Thank you! "If the firmware is a Major Upgrade, say from V3.XX to V4.XX then panel defaults will need to be loaded. You MUST power down the control panel and perform a “Factory Reset” to ensure that all defaults are loaded correctly." You mean this line right? How do you perform a "Factory...

Premier Elite 24 - flashed to v4 - Ricochet hilarity ensues

Yes and yes. To the first yes, I followed the instructions and did as they suggested, and to the second yes I have the latest Wintex. I figured out how to connect to the box through the network although no instructions seemed to exist for that - only that connections from Windows 7 and below...

Oooh, now you're asking. It's an external Ricochet.

Premier Elite 24 - flashed to v4 - Ricochet hilarity ensues

I posted this on the Texecom forum yesterday, but I think they're all on holiday (or something). So I thought I would ask here. Beginning to wish I'd not bothered right now, but here's where I'm at. ComWIFI decided to give up on me so bought the Smartcom, Interface cable and flasher to...

Texecom Premier Elite Areas vs Part Arming?

Pretty sure that happens anyway when you disable auto-arming. They just need to press part and yes. It's not the end of the world for them. Ta.

Texecom Premier Elite Areas vs Part Arming?

Seems to give the same options to a keyfob as before. Under Area/Options Auto Part Arm is set to .. and I tried to set that to A I think and it made no odds. I'll find my glasses and the book and give it a scan. Thanks though.

Texecom Premier Elite Areas vs Part Arming?

That sir is close enough. Less for them to have to think about the better. I was considering flipping the part and full arm around, thus making the quick arm enable a part arm by default, but that's perhaps beyond my brain. Thanks again!

Texecom Premier Elite Areas vs Part Arming?

Just to resurrect this for one tiny question - if anyone can help. If @Alarm Engineer is about, then even better because I already owe him drinks. Having the key fobs for neighbours auto-setting a full alarm has been an issue a couple of times when the dog and cats are roaming the gaff - pet...

    Kitchen - quartz worktop

Yes, I should perhaps have made this clearer. From their website: We cover all of the mainland UK.

Oh wait, is this some kind of "haze the new guy" ritual?

I can't work out if you're joking or just one of those people who has to have the last word. Let me know. Meanwhile, my location is there, on the left (unless you're on a mobile device). Somerset.

    Kitchen - quartz worktop

I'll play along. To be fair, I never know where I'm building a bespoke kitchen for next. Like a woodworking gigolo, I follow the money. However, in the past, when I've spoken to fitters, they've either been in digs all week whilst travelling all over or in digs all week in one city - luck of...

    Kitchen - quartz worktop

I didn't specify for a reason. I don't know what region a particular team covers, could be the whole UK, could be the South, who knows.

    Kitchen - quartz worktop

Noticed nobody has replied to this, and I'm new here, but I've always used Mister Marble, they use a fitting team that seems to roam the region and are generally cheaper than anyone else. I won't post a link, but it's not exactly hard to find. Not affiliated in any way, but used them on around...

Texecom Premier Elite Areas vs Part Arming?

Annoyingly no it doesn't change on the keypad - perhaps it's set somewhere else. All the other bits of text I've changed are pre-populated on Wintex and I edit them, in the Area Text bit it's blank by default, so perhaps it's somewhere else. I'll update if I find it.

Texecom Premier Elite Areas vs Part Arming?

Yes, makes sense. The PIR that's on Guard Access isn't anywhere near the entry/exit route, so I expect he fumbled that one. I'll change the text to say, "leave through the door" or something that sounds less "errory". I've got some more Ricochet PIRs coming tomorrow to cover the outbuildings a...

Texecom Premier Elite Areas vs Part Arming?

One last thing...it's not mega important. With the "auto yes" for the arming set on one of the fobs, it'll still wait for the door to open/close, which is correct as it's full arming. Is that best practice or does it tend to confuse people? I'm answering my own question here, it'd only confuse...
