2008 Audi a3 jerking when releasing or pressing gas pedal

The car has been plugged into a computer for diagnostics, there are zero codes given hence the advice given so far.

Might be worth checking/cleaning your MAP sensor in the first instance then, following that it's a case of fingers crossed with no codes. I'd likely go with fuel pump afterwards, but obviously can't say for sure especially if it's sporadic, literally the worst issue to have! Good luck

I was thinking the same, VCDS would be my go-to for this.

2008 Audi a3 jerking when releasing or pressing gas pedal

I'd be amazed if it's not fly by wire, my old 2000 Passat was FBW. Any way of testing to check if it's worn? Without replacing it obviously! I was thinking it could also be the DMF failing/failed?

Could be the mass air flow sensor (MAF) on its way out?

Main 24HE - CH hot when DHW is called

@CBW & @picasso A new plate heat exchanger was delivered today, I've just fitted it, and everything's sorted. Thanks very much for your advice, it's truly appreciated!

I thought as much, thanks for confirming. I'll check out the heat exchanger and will let you know. Thanks for the help!

Main 24HE - CH hot when DHW is called

Thanks Picasso, something for me to check out. Interestingly, I emailed the diverter valve supplier originally assuming it was faulty, and they've told me it's likely a pump fault. It appears to be working fine to me, do you think there's a chance it could cause this?

Main 24HE - CH hot when DHW is called

Hi @CBW , Thanks for the reply. Sensing tubes checked no, diverter replaced upon recommendation, PCB replaced due to continual flashing power light. PCB cured the power light issue, problem with CH coming on remains!

Main 24HE - CH hot when DHW is called

Hi all, After many faithful years, my boiler has started playing up! When DHW is called, both micro switches on the diverter are engaged (pins push out) despite the CH being off. A new diverter has been fitted, along with new PCB and AAV (old one was leaking). Boiler is a Main 24HE combi. Does...

    Granite floor tile removal

Hi Notch, It was a cement screed (with fibers in it, presumably for reinforcement) laid when our extension was built, to raise the floor to meet the existing; the screed had a high point, which is the root cause of the issue (the tiler knew about this). When the tiler leveled the floor (after...

    Granite floor tile removal

Scratch that, we just tried with a 70mm chisel on an SDS, and the cables are being ripped out with the tiles. Looks like it's an insurance job, and several more weeks until we get anything sorted. :(

    Granite floor tile removal

Hi all, I'm midway through having my kitchen tiled with 600x300 10mm polished granite tiles, laid over a free-wire electric UFH system (DCM Pro) which was laid over 6mm insulation boards and then self leveled; the subfloor is concrete with a 20mm screed on top. We've now got a problem, where...

Should cavity closers be screeded over in new floor?

    Haha! I gathered!!

Should cavity closers be screeded over in new floor?

Cheers for the reply guys. The buildings a bit weird, it's external block and render, but with a timber frame internal. Woody, do you have any examples of what the correct detail should look like? Could 18mm OSB/Ply be laid with the flooring on top? I'm guessing this would bridge the closer and...

Should cavity closers be screeded over in new floor?

I'm after a bit of advice. I've recently had some building work done, part of which was a detached office and workshop in the garden. The builder is under the impression that his job is complete, but upon inspection today, I can see that the cavity closers are still on display in the floor. I'm...

    8° Roof Pitch - Can I tile?!

Thanks for all of the help with this guys. I talked things through with the builders yesterday, and we're going rubber on the roof; depending on funds at the end of the project, I'll most probably end up retrofitting a Sedum roof... so no tiles after all!

    8° Roof Pitch - Can I tile?!

Cheers Woody, I think that's where my head was originally, but I was questioning myself regarding putting battens onto a rubber roof... I presumed the rubber would be punctured and there goes the seal?! I guess the other option, away from tiles, would be a retrofitted green roof, but that's...

    8° Roof Pitch - Can I tile?!

Cheers for that Nige, I'd never heard of it. Looks like the minimum advised pitch for the roof is 10° which is a bummer, but metal sheeting could still be an option if I could do the lot in a single run.
