Gap between wall and wall hung toilet

Surely with a wall hung toilet, it is more likely the panel holding the toilet, or the fixings are loose. Seems extreme that a toilet that isn’t touching the floor is flexing because the floor is moving.

    Hole in the floor

Is it owned by you or the freeholder? If it isn’t yours, leave it well alone.

Storage heater not working, no heat.

Thanks - I moved out of my property with storage heaters back in Aug 17, so wasn’t aware that you couldn’t now get them. I’d get a used one!

Storage heater not working, no heat.

Have you got the heater already? Can’t you buy a standard 1 feed heater (connected to the off peak supply) saving yourself the initial cost and the running costs?

Storage heater not working, no heat.

I can’t help the Creda installation material. They refer to a plug top. Jenny - Do you need a peak time boost function? My experience is it make expensive storage heaters even more expensive to run. A normal off peak would just connect to the existing wiring that is already in place.

Storage heater not working, no heat.

Also says not to be wired through a plug top. It sounds very much that it wasn’t designed to be attached to a plug...

Storage heater not working, no heat.

Creda say it needs to be wired to a 20A double pole switch and connected to the fixed wiring of the premises. Not a plug. But I guess they didn’t design it to be used a certain way.

Storage heater not working, no heat.

I can’t see why it wouldn’t be safe. But it isn’t how it is designed to work. It is designed to be permanently hardwired in.

Storage heater not working, no heat.

Could one of the elements have gone? That might have tripped the thermal cut out too.

Storage heater not working, no heat.

I’d try pressing the reset and seeing if it gets hot tonight first.

    New wire from outdoor socket

Off topic, but consider using wired CCTV rather than one that works over WiFi. The wiring isn’t that hard running CAT5 cable in a typical house (as most of it can be concealed in loft space).

Philips GU10 lamp not fitting in GU10 holder

The inside piece is removable. It twists outwards. It then fits on the bulb and screws back in holding the bulb secure.

Philips GU10 lamp not fitting in GU10 holder

Most people will refer to GU10 as the standard, common bulb found in Screwfix as a GU10. Whether that’s right or wrong, it seems to be the way they are sold (as you know). Philips make 2 sizes in Hue. Both just called GU10. One is called perfect fit though, and is the normal 50-55mm that...

Philips GU10 lamp not fitting in GU10 holder

I thought the Hue white ambiance were ‘perfect fit’ and normal GU10 size.

    Ventilation in plastic soffits

The porch is likely cold due to no insulation in the roof space above the porch and having a door.

    Ventilation in plastic soffits

The vents are there to ventilate and stop condensation build up in the roof space. There does look a lot of them in the pictures you posted. Try buying sealed units to replace the Dow lighters with - that will help with the draft (or using a hood). Other thing is to insulate the roof space (not...

    Ventilation in plastic soffits

It would have been better to cover the holes in the ceiling.

    Conduit light switch

I presume it is going on an inside brick wall, so water unlikely to be a problem.

    Electrical tingling question

I get it with my iPad and iPhone on normal Apple chargers. I can’t feel it if I gently run a finger over any other metal object whilst holding my phone (while charging), so if I am turning on a touch lamp for example. Never worried about it.
