    Fitting Fire Valve

It's a 10mm x 1/4" coupler but yes the fire valve has tapered threads. So looks like use ptfe tape.

    Fitting Fire Valve

I'm fitting a new capillary fire valve. It has 1/4" bsp threads at the inlet and outlet for the oil connections. Do I need to use ptfe tape when screwing in the connectors?

    Worcester Danesmoor non starter?

Well today the new nozzle arrived. I fitted it, reset the electrodes and cleaned the cut-off valve that sits in the nozzle tube. Again, tried the burner on the floor first to ensure spark....all good.. Fitted the burner. Bled the pump. Didn't start. Tried it four more times. No good. Renoved the...

    Worcester Danesmoor non starter?

Well the oil pump is new and came with a coil fitted but I did check the coil again by sticking a screwdriver in to check magnetism and it’s fine. When I had it on the floor the oil line was disconnected, didn’t want to risk setting the kitchen on fire! so not sure about oil flow. I’ll order a...

    Worcester Danesmoor non starter?

No, not run out of oil, had a delivery a month back and it's been running since then. Have bled the pump but not set up the pressure as have lost my guage. I have no idea how old the current nozzle is, so maybe a replacement is required? But it was running a couple of weeks ago?

    Worcester Danesmoor non starter?

Worcester Danesmoor 15/19 oil fired boiler. This boiler continues to lock out. The fan funs, have plenty of fuel, have tested solenoid and the pump is new. With the burner out on the floor there is a health spark at the electrodes but when I put it back into the boiler body it refuses to fire...

    Oil burner fuel leak

Thanks guys, I've noted what you've recommended regarding the shaft seals. But what I must add to my original post is that I replaced the pump and solenoid back in August 2017 and for weeks it ran as it should...no leaking at all. Then about a week ago this fuel seeping began.

    Oil burner fuel leak

Hi, I have a Worcester Danesmoor 15/19 oil fired boiler. It starts up just fine and provides hot water and rads warm up ok. After about 15 mins the burner switches off ok but then fuel oil begins to drip from the bottom of the pump (BFP 41 L3) and continues to drip until I pull the button out on...

Danesmoor Oil Boiler - starts, runs, stops!

It's fed from a tank in roof. 3 port valve All I've done is replace a few components in the burner, as mentioned above. Only did that because the boiler stopped working ...no record of any servicing on the boiler from previous owner.

Danesmoor Oil Boiler - starts, runs, stops!

Well I checked the circulating pump and it's spinning freely so not sure what to check now. I can't find any overheat cut-outs or reset buttons anywhere. I've set the programmer to hotwater and heating but as the boiler only runs for 4 mins (always the same time, never varies!) the rads barely...

Danesmoor Oil Boiler - starts, runs, stops!

Well I've just rotated the temp control on the front panel of the boiler to the next heat setting and it fired up again, ran for 4 mins and cut out. Flue is hot and out going water pipe is hot. I'm going to check the circulating pump as you suggest.

Danesmoor Oil Boiler - starts, runs, stops!

Hi Bob, thanks for quick response. Come to think of it, I didn't see any indicator lights on the control box at any time when it ran or now after it stopped.

Danesmoor Oil Boiler - starts, runs, stops!

Hi, I have a Danesmoor 15/19. It's been running ok than packed up about a month ago. It was obvious that it hadn't been serviced for years. The oil pump was stiff to turn and filters were semi blocked. So I fitted new oil pump and replaced a few other parts and reset the ignition probes, cleaned...
