    Suprima 30 running by itself

The boiler hasn't malfunctioned since it did it initially but when the boiler is operating now it seems to make a high pitched noise similar to a kettle. Seems to do it more on the CH than the HW, any ideas please??

    Suprima 30 running by itself

From the FAQ is my best bet is to check the voltage on the Orange wire in the airing cupboard where the valve and pump meet? 240v=sticking valve 50-150v something else. No 2x2 port valve, just a 3 port.

    Suprima 30 running by itself

Just come home from work to find my house really really hot and found the boiler to be running when the heating controls (Potterton EP2) were on standby and the stat for the room temp was not lit up as in heating and water off. The heating timer went off at 8am like normal and the heating and...

Suprima 30 slow to start, flashing orange Siemens PCB

It's just more irritating than anything pressing the EXT button and then wishing the damn thing to start. It makes strange noises coming from the pcb at night like a component breaking down with a high pitched ticking.

Suprima 30 slow to start, flashing orange Siemens PCB

Hi Pete, Yes the switched live is fine and I took the head off the three port valve to check the valve moves fine etc. The manual says for flashing orange 'Ext call for heat, temperature control set to off' The time for the pump to start and then boiler fan to spin up can be anything...

Suprima 30 slow to start, flashing orange Siemens PCB

I have a Potterton Suprima 30 with the newer Siemens board as the old board failed a few years ago but the boiler has developed a fault which is baffling me. The timer comes on as it should and the three port valve moves to the correct position but then the boiler does nothing and the LED...

    Dripping from feed/expansion tank overflow

At the time I turned the feed off to the ballcock and took the water in the tank to the correct level and had no problems for a month. Checked the level last week and the level had risen about a centimetre. I then replaced the ballcock washer and now a week later the swine overflow is dripping...

    Dripping from feed/expansion tank overflow

I have dripping from my feed/expansion tank overflow. This only occurs when the heating on and boiler fired up. When the heating is off then the overflow does not drip at all. I left the heating off for about ten hours with no dripping. The dripping water appears to be cold but not looked in...

    Banging from Motorised Valve

This appears to be the case all the time the valve is in the CH position the motor is trying to turn even when the heating timer is off during the day?! Sound right? Seems a bit of a waste of energy. Thanks for the prompt and reassuring reply.

    Banging from Motorised Valve

Sorry to butt in but you hopefully can answer my query. :) Should the motor be held by stalling it or should it be trying to turn? My 3 way BGMVSP-23 stalls in the mid position but is continually trying to turn in the CH only position and the motor is getting quite hot (about 50 degrees C)...

    Pump speed

Our pump is set to speed 3 in a 3 bed semi house. Does this sound ok? If I lower the speed to 2 the heating seems to take quite a bit longer to reach temperature.

    Pump speed?

I have a potterton suprema 30 in a 3 bed semi, can someone tell me what setting the circulating airing cupboard pump should be on? Thanks in advance

    Central heating bypass???

Looking at http://www.deals4homes.co.uk/images/centheat2.gif it appears to be the bypass balancing valve. When the shower went wrong in an attempt to stop it I turned everything off. Should this be open or closed? Since closing the valve slightly the heating appears to heat up quicker.

    Central heating bypass???

Yes HW cylinder, runs from just past pump (smaller gauge than rest of copper pipes) and down to just past HW cylinder lower side pipe. There is a red handled valve. It looks like to me that the water bypasses the actuator switch. Dont know what it's purpose is and after having a shower mixer go...

    Central heating bypass???

I have a potterton suprema 30 boiler and in the airing cupboard I have a stopcock which is on a small gauge pipe than the rest of the setup. It goes from output side of pump before actuator valve to the pipe coming out of the bottom of the tank. Is this some sort of bypass and should it be...

    Pump very hot

I also have a Myson cp53 and a Potterton Suprema 30. Any idea what the pump should be set to? My house is a 3 bed semi and when the pump is on setting 3 it makes quite a row. On setting 2 it makes little noise but heating takes longer to reach required temp.
